Why? Motherboard manufacturers merely post the latest stable update and then "forget" about updates, once they stop selling the product. It is not like it is the best driver. It is not a custom driver like they provide for onboard GPU.

Most of the time you'll want to use the latest drivers at the motherboard manufacturer's website, for your motherboard.

Rarely you may want/need the Windows Realtek Audio driver, from Microsoft.
As for the chipset drivers... it's best to get the latest one from Intel or AMD.
(Intel has a tool for doing this).


Also... you can stop Microsoft from including various drivers with the Windows Updates.
