Nothing to say you can’t stay logged in. You may need to protect your cookies for this site though.
The only reason you would be purposely logged out is if you have enabled the 2 factor Authentication option on for your login which has a life span of 30 days at a time.

I think one reason is so others who has physical access to the machine whether authorized or not will not post as you.
