Win11 24H2 Installed, now no network sharing

your topic was very help full, but due to the increased windows security in 24H2 network mediaplayers and even nas don't
automatically show up anymore.
But fortunately users are able to access data by setting up a network connection.

I have this problem on my PC's after upgrading to 24H2. And what fixed it for me was going into settings and putting that setting on off. I have 4 computers I did it to everyone rebooted and now it works on all of them. All my computers had passwords but it kept telling me it was incorrect. Not anymore.

My setting is and has always been that.

I still have the problem, and the LAN is a mix of Windows versions, W10 Pro and W11 Home 24H2.

NET VIEW only works when looking at individual machine sharenames. Oh, my Router has a connected USB Shared external drive attached.

Net View on my PC (W11 24H2) shows this:

PS C:\> net view
System error 6118 has occurred.

The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available

However using the ShareName of the router I can see this:

PS C:\> net view \\tp-share
Shared resources at \\tp-share


Share name Type Used as Comment

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
G Disk
The command completed successfully.

So it CAN partially work. As new MS Updates come in, the NET VIEW error has changed. Still, the NET VIEW command had be 'deprecated' by MS?

Check here, Redirecting and from it this, "This is due to the fact that HTTP is deprecated in Win11.", from a "Microsoft Community Support Specialist".

Note the timestamp on this, just last month, so it is recent.

I hope that's a typo, because it's nonsense. net view uses SMB, not HTTP. Also, HTTP is not deprecated.
