I have always found the manual upgrade via the iso to be more reliable.If you can wait until Tuesday October 8th then the Patch Tuesday cumulative update will supersede KB5043145 and you won't have to worry about it any more
KB5043145 is an optional Preview update, you are under no obligation to install it. Even if you did though, you are unlikely to see 24H2 being offered as a Feature Update in Windows Update. If all previous feature updates are anything to go by then it will be a phased rollout. Only a very few will see it offered in Windows Update on Day One. My System One was a relatively new machine, even though 23H2 was released on October 31, 2023 the feature update wasn't offered in its Windows Update until November 4th.
If you really want 24H2 ASAP then your only option is to download the ISO and do an in-place manual upgrade.
