KB5043145 is an optional Preview update, you are under no obligation to install it. Even if you did though, you are unlikely to see 24H2 being offered as a Feature Update in Windows Update. If all previous feature updates are anything to go by then it will be a phased rollout. Only a very few will see it offered in Windows Update on Day One. My System One was a relatively new machine, even though 23H2 was released on October 31, 2023 the feature update wasn't offered in its Windows Update until November 4th.

If you really want 24H2 ASAP then your only option is to download the ISO and do an in-place manual upgrade.

I have always found the manual upgrade via the iso to be more reliable.

I have found both to be reliable, but the ISO is by far the fastest of the two. The only advantage of letting Windows Update do it is that you get a nice little note recorded in its Update history :ROFLMAO:

Hello, can somebody help me please? I update to 24h2 through windows assistent and youtube dowsn t play videos in 4k, only in hd. If i select the 4k the video gets stuck although I have a good internet connection. I tried other browsers and it is the same. If I revert to 23h2 it solves the problem.

That very likely means a bad SSD. Most likely, if that behavior continues, or SFC keeps coming back with that reply within a month or two.
Got that with my failing PNY CS900 SSD, where its SMART is indicating bad blocks, even when hardly used! IIRC, unless there's another thing wrong that its SMART is complaining about. SFC would reply with "but could not fix some of them" or similar.

If it's the usual Bluetooth file bug, then SFC will reply with "successfully repaired them" or similar.

You need to check CBS.log!

"SFC /Scannow says repaired all errors however each re-scan gives me Windows has successfully repaired corrupt files its perpetual"

Reminds me of what has been happening in 22H2 and 23H2, CBS finds something to complain about again, especially on every patch-Tuesday! Sometimes, randomly, often between patch-Tuesdays.

But in 11, unlike 10, CBS usually considers the Bluetooth files unexpected, over and over again!

Ironically, 10 22H2 seems less likely to have this issue.

But, why are no problems found after the update, when I use DISM's /restorehealth option, uninstall the LCU, reboot then reinstall the LCU?

Re the SFC /scannow recurring errors. I opened the cbs.log file at c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.logs loaded it into Notepad and carried out a search on the keyword 'repairing'.

On my PC (see below) running Windows 11 24H2 26100.1882 every time the command is run the log shows the System File Checker trying to fix the same files as per the screenshot below. Hopefully MS are aware of the issue and have a fix in the works. Here is a partial listing from the file.

Didn't work for me, And that was via a RUFUS USB, says TPM2 problem. I ran the following but no prize.

I downloaded the 24H2 ISO last night and I've upgraded 2 "supported" desktops and a "supported" laptop so far.

I did notice that after I upgraded the 2 desktops with Windows 11 Professional the activation had gone on both machines "Windows is not activated" and there was a "hardware change" (there wasn't - on both machines) but after I entered the Product Keys for both they are now activated again. Strange. Someone on another forum commented on the same thing happening to them (with Windows 11 Pro).

But, my little Lenovo laptop with Window 11 Home was still activated after I did the ISO upgrade to 24H2. The laptop started life with Windows 10 Home and I did a clean install of Windows 11 Home 23H2 earlier this year.

My 3rd desktop PC with an "unsupported" 4th Generation CPU (it does have POPCNT and SSE4.2) will not upgrade with the ISO (as I expected but I decided to try it anyway) but it will also not upgrade with a Rufus (4.5, latest version) created USB stick with all of the 'mandatory' requirements bypassed (the Windows Installer says no TPM2.0 and CPU not supported and goes no further, of course).

Guess I'll have to wait for a Rufus update (the 'problem' has been reported to the developers).

I’m not talking about new threads by members who have problems, I am referring to already existing threads that are kind of removed from the venture forward.

There needs to be a dedicated thread… or something.

I’m not the guy to do it, currently I’d rather not say why.

My 3rd desktop PC with an "unsupported" 4th Generation CPU (it does have POPCNT and SSE4.2) will not upgrade with the ISO (as I expected but I decided to try it anyway) but it will also not upgrade with a Rufus (4.5, latest version) created USB stick with all of the 'mandatory' requirements bypassed (the Windows Installer says no TPM2.0 and CPU not supported and goes no further, of course).

Guess I'll have to wait for a Rufus update (the 'problem' has been reported to the developers).

You can still install by using dism /Apply-Image and then install the bootloader via bcdboot.exe. Plenty of posts on how to do that in this Forum so not repeating on how to do it.

Note - if you want to continue to use a local account and you are installing W11 Pro or above then choose School / workplace for where the PC is used, and then select use a domain for the login option. Then it carries on with a local account. The trick of entering a rubbish email address doesn't work anymore.

That's OK for a clean install, but no use for an in-place upgrade.

I successfully upgraded my unsupported System Two yesterday (1st gen i5, Legacy bios, TPM1.2). The trick was to make hybrid install media, a 23H2 install usb with its sources\install.esd (or .wim) replaced by the one for 24H2. Then all the known workarounds for 23H2 will still work.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

Actually it's easy to install 24H2 on a (very) unsupported device using unmodified install media direct from MS. It just takes a few registry changes.

Thanks for the info -- not me though as I'm running w11 on supported hardware -- I think the OP might be interested though. I do have an older laptop as well but I run W11 as a VM and can "emulate" missing hardware via the Virtual paravirtualised hardware drivers.
