Solved Windows 11 Pro 26100.1301: no widgets on the lock screen

I get a few widget choices in the Personalization settings, but none of them work.

My lockscreen uses the Windows Spotlight images.

I've enabled widgets in the Group Policy editor. (Although I already have widgets, in the left side of the taskbar.) I tried running Vivetool. It reported that the changes were successful, but nothing changed.

Any suggestions?

This is a fairly trivial matter, but I'd like to be able to fix it.

I had already visited the Group policy Editor. Enabling widgets there changed nothing. (The taskbar button was already enabled.)

I just tried adding the Registry keys using the .reg file in the link. Followed by a restart. No go.

Do you have any other suggestions?

A quick Web search suggests that my little problem isn't unique, but I found no solutions.

I ran sfc /scannow after the update to 1301. No errors.

I have gotten the ISO. I'm pessimistic about a repair install fixing things, but I could try.

Several of us have been in limbo you could say waiting on the new lockscreen widgets. I even tried enabling the vivetool codes and they still won't appear even though Weather is selected from the lockscreen setting. Seems MS is really moving slow enabling that feature for many.

(Later:) I tried the repair install. No change. Widgets remained enabled in the Group Policy Editor.

sfc /scannow found no errors, again.

Been there, done that. Vivetool reported that the changes were done. I did a restart.

The lockscreen widgets did not appear. Pfui.

One other datum: in the lockscreen Personalization settings, I get a few choices of widget. Just individual ones, no multiples. (I can't select more than 1.) None work.

I guess that I won't be hearing from anyone who has a) had the same issue and b) was able to fix it.

Perhaps a clean install would do it, but that's a bit more work than I'm willing to do for such a trivial issue.

Thanks to all who responded. I'll mark the thread as solved, although it wasn't.

I have the same issue, never got it work on any 26xxx builds, all I have listed is None

I went back to 23H2 because of this and other issues with 24H2. Got my lock screen cards back now. That was my fix.

Seems like an established pattern. Introduce a new major version with previous version features removed, then reintroduce them like we are getting something.

I believe that lot of people have the feature in 24H2. I have no explanation as to why I don't.

I don't have the new lockscreen feature but another PC here does, both on 24H2
