yes there is a few ways to do it. USB using media creation very easy and common way also, up to you ,not us.

Do you get any windows updates lately ?

Maybe you should just try running sfc /scannow in elevated command prompt see if have any corruption can be fixed.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. None of what you have stated is WRONG, just different ways of accomplishing the same thing. Maybe this will clear it up for you.

You DO NOT have to make an iso bootable disk to do an upgrade. The advantage of doing so is you have a bootable disk available if something ever goes wrong. Why one would extract an iso to desktop to perform an upgrade when mounting the drive does the same thing, I do not know.

If one has incompatible hardware (you do not) Rufus is a good method to make an install usb drive since you can set Rufus to bypass compatibility checks.

It is my experience when running the release version of Windows 11 on compatible hardware, making a bootable usb drive using the media creation tool is by far the simplest method for folks who don't have a lot of experience in dealing with iso files. You end up with a drive you can install Windows from if ever need be as well as upgrade from it simply by opening the drive in explorer.

After all 4 pages here still i wonder myself why you have never received 22h2 update through Windows which would be appropriate way and knowing if there is any issues why you have not received it that way.

im not sure. I run a VPN and Avast antivirus? Ive seen in the past Avast ruins Microsoft store download availability and maybe windows installs too?? Idk. otherwise I do not have a modded windows theme say using UltraUxThemePatcher way. I have icons installed using 7tsp but thats it for any mods to my system beyond regular settings inside windows own settings section etc. I cant think of anything else impeding my upgrade. Heres the version of windows I got an update for on 12-13-2022.

can't find that update on mine, but i am at newest build version 22H2. Not familiar with Avast, so not sure it can cause issues doubt for Windows update. Maybe those modded theme using UltraUX can be reasons for you main issue you made thread for otherwise can be other system issue preventing update from getting to you been out since Sept. 20, 2022.

Some people still have issues installing this update, you will only know if you try to manually.

Some as said had not been offered it, more on here later ones. Doesn't mean can't do it.

Try3, in post #11 said and quoted... "Not being offered 22H2 seems to be normal for a non-compliant computer." That is not entirely true. I have to enlarge on this issue. If you look at my specs non are compatible. But both received updates and are comparable at (KB5021255). This update is not forced but through windows updates. So explain this.

We also have to give credit to all the MODs and ADMINs "Other than Brink" Which has added control to this missive virtual platform. It must be a lot of hard work. BUT! Credit has been given. let's get back to helping imanlien2020... That being said... Have you mounted the ISO and run the Setup.exe from the mount?

No! you will not lose anything. Just make sure you choose to keep your DATA AND APPS! That is primary. But this is also coming from a guy that has done this a thousand times and is no big deal. So to be safe it would be prudent to look here Still no 22H2 offered. Information is power. So give it a read. Let us know what you decide to do.

didnt do it yet, just concerned about losing stuff, I know I can mark keep files and folders. I have it downloaded and ready to go when I get the guts..lol. But you guys helped me figure out exactly how to do it so thank you. Happy Holidays.

From your questions in post #71 I have concerns that you are clear. You may know know how to do it, but it is important to have your personal data backed up anyway. In place upgrades are usually relatively trouble free but one should still be prepared in case something unexpected goes wrong.

I did it. Took the plunge and upgraded..lol. Everything went well. I didnt lose 1 file and all i really had to do was install my icon pack and change my wallpaper. Thank you all. Now I am on the latest version of 22H2. Finally. I dont know why windows took many months to give me updates that are a year old. Anyhoo thanks again everyone. Case Closed.
