I use Macrium Reflect (free version) works great and it is very popular on the forum so you can get plenty of help

Most is now clarified! About an average of 80% on here according to the poll :) With about 20% using various other programs.

For beginners or people who aren't that techy it's a good solution. But I hope they at least start calling it Windows 11 imaging instead of Windows 7 imaging! change cd recovery to usb recovery and do whatever it is that people want to see to have it more up to speed. It is not as versatile as other backup programs but it does image your drive!

You and I have stated we use two System Backup programs. I only have 200 GB of used space on on my 500 GB Primary M.2 SSD. It takes seven minutes to make a System Image (the first time) then about one minute after that for each consecutive backup. The other program takes about nine minutes but has a lot of features in it.

The main thing in this forum is to help newbies of all ages to learn the importance of backing up their systems. Out of 400 people I have helped (remotely) over the past eight years nearly 70% of them did not know about, or know how to do, a system image backup. I think it's all about learning the hard way. We all did 25 plus years ago.

Kudos to you for using two methods.

Hard to define accuracy of such polls with a limited user base but I suspect out in the "Joe Public" land, the figures will be quite different.

I suspect more use the Windows built tool, simply unaware of 3rd party tools.

I rather suspect the portion using the free version of Acronis is higher than we might think (simply because it come bundled with drive purchases). The same applies to the Samsung cloning tool as well.

I always regard these sort of polls like election polls - you get a totally different answer depending on whom you ask.

Any poll only has true statistical significance if the number asked is large enough, and it is truly random.

The poll here is ok in context i.e. if you are asking opinion of elevenforum users, and enough answers to ascertain a trend.

What cannot be done is extrapolate that trend to the general population.

Of couse, 95% of all statistics are made up LOL.

I think most here will back up with something or other because we mess about with insider builds, I doubt backing up will be something the masses think about

Agreed, my housemate only knows about system backups because I told her about it and installed AOMEI for her. My one brother is a computer nerd so he does it. The rest of my family probably never heard of it and don't even know about system restore.
