As it is my first time to post a thread (I have just created an account), I would like to say hello to everyone.
As the thread name implies my Windows11pro has a problem with freezing a desktop, I can't click on any icon on the desktop. The start menu, taskbar, and everything else works. It happens twice in a week or more.
I have tried many solutions but no luck.
Also, I have read on this forum, but nothing is helpful.
Any ideas, thoughts?
I appreciate any help you can provide.

Try running a Clean Boot Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial
If that works, you can leave it this way or you can go thru the processes of elimination and add one Service or Startup item at a time until the computer freezes and then you will know the culprit.
Thank you for the advice.
I tried a clean boot, disabled software autoruns from the task manager, and for a thorough inspection in autoruns by using Autoruns software by Technet.
Also did a clean install of Windows and Plus updates a few months ago but with no luck.

I checked everything but everything is working well with no errors and warnings.
I think I have to wait for new stable release of windows11, download it from microsoft and install.
The version I am using has problems.

I installed a fresh version of the newer Windows 11 Build 22621.1702 downloaded using the media creation tool (update date 5/5/2023 it is not current but stable) but still have the same problem. I am sure if I update it to the latest it will have the same problem.
Windows 11 is the problem itself.

Hi!
Do you have Samsung's Magician installed?
Some reports that the 980 Pro has a bit of a heat problem.
You can update the firmware from the app.

Just your file system being indexed. It will start again whenever your change your software configuration. It's much worse on computers that don't have a SSD.

I tried.
Do you have the Samsung Magician installed?
If it's not software related then it has to be some
kind of hardware problem. Stress test the memory.
You can do that directly from Windows but, is a basic test.

I guess the BIOS and firmware are most recent?
Use Cinebench R23 and check heat as you do.

Core Temp:

Do you have another basic mouse to use as a test.

I assume mouse receiver is plugged in to back of machine, can you try a port on the front / top of device.

I saw your mouse works on task bar.

Likely the Location Services issue. Do you see a pink cursor to the left of the language selector?

I don't have another mouse but at the same time, I can't click on the desktop but on the taskbar and start menu. Also I tried front ports but it's the same.
So, It is not because of mouse.

Is your display driver up to date? Have you search vendors web site for issues like yours?

I'd still try another mouse, as I said I saw that you can click on task bar.
