Scan your computer for malware infections.

Check Event Viewer for errors.

I would clean install Windows 11 and use it without installing any applications to see if the problem resolves.

Visit device manufacturer website to install graphic card driver.

Execute Sfc /scannow and Chkdsk C: /r commands.

Make sure to execute Chkdsk C: /f command from Command Prompt.

Scan your computer for malware infection using Malwarebytes.

Important Recommended Steps
• Update all installed applications
• Uninstall currently installed device drivers and then install the latest version of the devices drivers.
• Install all the Windows important updates.
• If you are overclocking (pushing the components beyond their design) you should revert to default at least until the crashing is solved. If you don't know what it is, you probably are not overclocking.
• Use SpeedFan to monitor temperatures in computers, overheating can cause BSOD.
• Use Memtest86+ disc to check system memory's (RAM's) for errors.
• Use HDD Diagnostic Tool to check SMART health report of the hard disk drive (HDD).
• Use Prime95 to stress test your CPU
• Use 3DMark to stress test your GPU

Just your file system being indexed. It will start again whenever your change your software configuration. It's much worse on computers that don't have a SSD.
So you mention indexing. Maybe I missed something, but I did not see where you mention how to turn off indexing.

In File Explorer, right-click on your main drive (usually C: drive), select properties and uncheck the box:
"Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties"
Click apply or ok and it will take awhile to un-index your files.
Do this for all the drives connected to your system.

Go into your Windows services and turn off Windows Search:
Press the Windows Key + R.
Type services.msc, and enter.
Goto the Windows Search service.
Right-click on it and select properties.
Disable the service.
Reboot.

This is just a starting point for exploring how to stop the main desktop from freezing.

You might be having the same issue that and many others are experiencing...

its the Web experience pack and the widgets like news widget and/or weather widget.
for some reason it locks up the desktop icons/shortcuts for aprox. a 3-10 seconds while the Web experience pack updates the widgets..
I think... I reported it to Microsoft.. but no reply at all...

So you mention indexing. Maybe I missed something, but I did not see where you mention how to turn off indexing.
I assumed anyone intelligent enough to find this forum would know how to search for the solution if someone pointed them in the right direction. It's a common topic.
