Oh, I've heard it all but since I'm not in the Insider Preview program any longer [only was for Win10 and earlier] and I make money working on clients' machines that won't be in it I don't get consumed by it.

TechnoMage2021 ---Can you provide the link for that Win11 Pro, 24H2, V4.2 ISO that you said you downloaded, and did a clean install. All I know at this point is if I want to jump in and go for 24H2 is download the Windows 11 Client Insider Build Preview--Build 26100.1150 and do all the updates that come with it.Berton! Don't you ever Listen? For weeks, I've been Screaming "It's Here!" I've even been running 24H2 here on several of my own PC's, from the base 24H2 (weeks ago) to 24H2 V4.2, today!

The ONLY pre-requisite for installing 24H2 is that your CPU must have the SSE4.2 Instruction set included. Without that, you're stuck running 23H2. So far, there is no FIX for that. MS won't come up with that, but maybe some other top Programmer will.
Fortunately, most of us who have CPU's that are less than 12 years old, have that SSE4.2 instruction set, in our CPU's, so we can run Win-11 24H2.
Out of ten PC's, I have only three that will run 24H2, and all three are now running it! A couple of them are so old that they will only run a 32 bit OS. But that's OK.....Windows 10/Pro/32 runs great on those really OLD PC's, and when properly set up, they look, and run, just like they are running Win-11.
Even, just early this morning, I downloaded Win-11/Pro, 24H2, V4.2, then burned it to a Flash Drive using the Rufus that came zipped up with the download ISO. Then I installed it to a new 240 GB SSD. And, within an hour, I had it on the Internet (this forum) and I was doing my email.
I just don't understand, why some people can't just do something Neat , Clean, and FAST, instead of making a HUGE job out of it.
I just cringe when I read some of the accounts of how someone goes about installing a new OS. It's just endless Gobbledegook!
It's only a simple three step program! I've posted that, over and over again and I don't feel like doing that again.

My experience with Win10 in the IP was Yes, a clean install was required to get into the RTM version. That was stated in the 'warning' statement about not installing on a production machine or the only computer available.
24H2 has already been released to the public, for the ARM powered Copilot+ PCs, that is. The Release Preview channel is getting the same updates for x64 machines as are being released for the Copilot+ PCs, and I would expect once x64 gets a public launch you'd be getting the public updates, without needing to clean install.

If I do a clean install and I release the out-of-box experience to set up a local account this would not encrypt my system. Correct?
