FYI - I contacted Dell to see what they could do to help me get a pair of RAM stick. They wouldn't exchange my 32GB stick for two 16GB sticks. They recommended that I contact Sales for my needs. The price of their RAM was out of this world.

My existing RAM is a Samsung unit. I was unable to find a matching stick online and based on feedback here, I'd be worried that an additional stick (not a matched pair) might be a problem.

Therefore, I've looked online for reviews, specs and prices and have ordered:
Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 5200MHz

Now I'll cross my fingers that I won't have any installation problems.

BTW - I'd like to mark the thread "Solved" but I don't see that link on this thread. (????)

It's a little sad that Dell's memory prices are so high that buying a 2X32 pair at retail is less expensive than getting a single 32GB DIMM from Dell.

Maybe you can recoup a little by selling the original DIMM. I've sold RAM on eBay. (To a dealer, because I set a low enough "buy it now" price.)

I remember on one of the forums somebody doing an extended test of mix and match RAM to find out whether having a set of fully matched did make a difference. I think the answer he found was that odd sticks gave better than 96% of the speed of the matched sets.

One thing of note, I got a new Notebook just as Win11 was fully released with 8GB RAM. While looking through my parts box I found a 4GB module, added it to the Notebook. Only downside is the 8GB is 3200 and the 4GB is 2600, as with everything in computing it's operating at the slower speed. But I did get the Dual-Channel instead of Single Channel of 1 module so kind of a trade-off in performance, no operational issues.

I have 2 CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB (2 x 16GB) set in Dual-Channel A2 and B4 But in CPU-Z under Channel # it says 4 x 32-bit whereas it should say Dual. I'm I mistaken?

This is no big deal. Just a curiosity. I know my RAM is set Dual-Channel. My system is Rocking Fast. And it'll be even faster. My existing nvme runs Read at 3500 MBps and Write 3000 MBps. My new one coming in. Read at 4,150 MB/s and Write at 4,150 MB/s. Western Digital WD_Blue SN580 M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express 4.0 It'll be my new boot drive. My continuing ride building and upgrading my new build.

Are you saying that this also applies as well to NVME? I don't think this is the case. So if I image my existing nvme to my new nvme and blow the old nvme off and move it another slot "I have 3 other slots" My boot drive will run at the lower speed? As your post indicated It about RAM. But my question in valid.

Nope. The speeds of the drives aren't interdependent. But, ofc, as you know, if you use your faster drive to copy a 16GB file to an external, the speed of the copy operation will be limited by the write speed of the external. So if you then copy the same file from your slower drive to the external, the external will set the pace, but because the slower on IS slower, there'll be a perceptible diff between the speed of the first copy operation and the second.

I have 4 nvme slot's. My boot and 3 storage. If I transfer from my boot to an nvme storage on the mobo is that considered a remote?

No, but the write speed of the target will determine the highest speed of the copy operation. And if you copy from a slower internal to a faster internal the read speed of the slower source will determine the highest speed of the operation. Remember to use large files for checking this sort of thing. 15-20GB works. 500MB doesn't. Happens too fast to even show the copying action panel.

I have just checked my ram using CPU-Z and the 4 sticks of 8gb Corsair all have the same part number, CMK16GX4M2B3000C15. Bought at different times as pairs, slots 1 and 2 have Samsung chips and slots 3 and 4 have Hynix chips. The run dual channel and are more than enough for my usage.
