Option to leave touchpad on/off when mouse is connected can depend on hardware/laptop brand - e.g. not an option for my HP but it is an option for my Asus
yeah probably for model. that image is from an HP laptop thread on HP's website lol

Update: I am in the middle of packing and came across a wired mouse and got to try it on my laptop and it works fine. I doubt its 2 mouses that are problems but they were just cheap ones so I have another laptop i can try them on to see if they are the problem and will report back.

also i do have the option to turn touch pad on/off or leave on when mouse is connected. tried all 3 ways and still the same problem.

and another answer i am using the original battery/ charger it came with tried without it plugged in as well and same issue. i will report when i can test out the mice and get back before i go further down the rabbit hole. thank you everyone for all the suggestions.

Perhaps @kelper is onto something, could the new mouse and old mouse be using the same faulty driver?

Maybe some file corruption in the OS. Check out post #4 in the following thread. It only takes about 10 minutes to run and it's easy to do: -

I was able to do the scan but now i have issues with plugged in mouse. when i click something it will click more than once, for example i will be watching a movie with VLC and click it one to open but it minimizes and the most annoying part is forget trying to drag and drop something or to highlight something. i have a brand new mouse on order today this one im using is from windows xp days lol. but at least it scrolls normal. i havent had a chance to try out the other 2 mice on another computer yet.

i did the scans recomemded from the article, i had done them before but nothing came up as issues so i re-scanned using that file to see if anything pops up and have attached the results.

also i use iobit uninstaller to remove any programs, i havent removed anything as of late but it removes any left over files or its supposed to. i also checked for any updates but none are found.

will report back when i test the mice and if the new wired one is doing the same thing. I figured i will start small before i have to really think lol. thanks again for all the help and suggestions.

hello all just giving an update, I was able to test all 3 mouses on a different computer. its pretty much brand new so i know there arent issues with that one. the first mouse did the same thing erratically skipping over lines, the second was the blutooth one, i couldnt get the blutooth one to pair so i used the usb part and that one was acting up as well so for the fun i tried to see it the wired windows xp mouse did the same thing like my computer. it does. i couldnt drag and drop items or click on something without it double and triple clicking.

3 mice all garbage. i found the mouse that goes to the new computer plugged in the usb to my laptop and scrolling is smooth, can click and drag stuff so no issues. seems like its a hard to believe situation where 3 mice are all garbage but sure seems like it. Amazon lost my cheap $4 wired one so cant tell the results but will look into a new mouse either blutooth or wireless. again thank you all for the help and recommendations.
