Hi there,

Hopefully someone can help with this.

Been experiencing this issue on and off for a month or so now. Sometimes the system is rock solid - I have been playing Final Fantasy VII REBIRTH this past week and made it to over 100 hours with no crashes.

Today - a black screen crash. PC just turns itself off and then reboots. At other times it would crash, but not reboot. I'm struggling to identify the issue.

I have some mismatched RAM in the system:

32GB of Corsair DDR4-2998 / PC4-24000 DDR4 SDRAM UDIMM
16GB of Corsair DDR4-3200 / PC4-25600 DDR4 SDRAM UDIMM

That could be the problem, but wouldn't explain why it was fine for an entire week with no crashes during very intense use.

System is relatively old now - as you can tell from the CPU and motherboard. They were bought when the CPU was current, so around early 2018 or so.

Visit NVIDIA graphics card manufacturer website to install the newest version of the graphics card driver.

Also update Microsoft Windows Bluetooth bus driver file.

Open the Command Prompt (Cmd.exe) as an Administrator and execute the following commands one at a time.

Code:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Sfc /Scannow

NVIDIA driver updated - had forgotten there would be an update. This shouldn't be the issue though, given it has been stable on that driver for a week.

Apart from checking for updates via Devices Manager, is there any other way to check for an updated Microsoft Windows Bluetooth bus driver?

Code:
C:\Windows\System32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Oh it was? Which file in the logs shows that it was that?

Mismatched RAM could definitely be the culprit. One should never use mismatched RAM. You might try just using the 32GB RAM sticks. That is more than enough to play games.
