What I had to do was go into my UEFI (BIOS) clear my keys, turn CSM off, reboot, turn CSM back on, and reload keys. Your issue could be different, but it looks like you're having the same issue I had.

Don't have CSM option in my BIOS. Have tried the clear keys option. This is totally random, why it works one day then fails the next is beyond me!
The motherboard says the TPM is there & working but Win11 says it has a protocol error.

Its decided to work tonight, we'll see what misery descends on me tomorrow!

Yeah, I wondered after I posted whether CSM was an ASUS thing. It pretty much amounts to Secure Boot. Sorry you're having so much trouble with this. My guess is that it's just another one of those Windows 11 things that needs to get straightened out at HQ. I've never been a big fan of TPM and likely never will be because I've found it to be so problematic. But hey, that's just me. Wishing you the best.

Check if there is a new BIOS for your motherboard. It could be a bug fixed at a newer version. Also contact your motherboard support, maybe it is a known issue and they can help you. I would just disable TPM and forget about it.

See in the downloads, is there any chipset driver? Install it, just in case. Also install any Intel Management driver. I would also try disabling Secure Boot, restart, go to BIOS again and re-enable it, just in case the setting is stuck/corrupt.

Chipset driver is installed however... the IME driver will not install!

Currently fiddling with this.

Go to Intel Support site and download Intel® Driver & Support Assistant (Intel® DSA). I would check and uninstall any previous Intel IME version before running the Assistant to automatically update my Intel drivers.

Already got that. Don't think I have any IME version installed!

Try to delete (uninstall) the TPM device from Device Manager. If asked to delete the driver, check the box to do so. Don't manually search for new devices, just restart and let Windows find the device automatically. See if it works properly.

Done that. Its working OK today.

Solved this. I had this similar issue, with an event showing up about "Pre-attestation failure" and slight boot time issue. There is 3 Windows scheduled tasks for TPM checks. I actually don't know how to access this list of tasks without CCleaner, but this also gives me the ability to just disable them, very easily. There's also a service natively running for TPM, which I disable in Services.msc. This fixed the unnecessary TPM probing on my daily driver Dell laptop.

That's the issue you have because you have a Windows 11 compliant PC with TPM 2.0 I have an unsupported computer and peace of mind (I wish)...

My PC isn't Windows 11 compliant but TPM 2.0 is working fine.

Looks like his motherboard need a TPM module.

I will just repeat what I have said in other threads. If you bypass compatibility check and install Windows 11 on an unsupported computer (in his case without TPM 2.0), security level remains the SAME as it is running Windows 10. It is not as by magic becomes less, as Microsoft wants you to believe. Likewise, the computer is not more secure with Windows 11, provided you have the same applications and configuration as in Windows 10. If you upgrade from 10 most settings are preserved which by default are disabled, like in Windows 10. Only if you clean install Windows 11 you get the default more secure configuration (some settings are enabled that were not in 10). So not only the hardware and Windows version, but also the CONFIGURATION makes the difference between more secure and less secure. Of course don't forget the human factor. Clicking anywhere just to get rid of a popup window make even the most secure computer running Linux vulnerable to malware. Use common sense.

Intel TPM is working fine after I sorted the MEI out. I do also have a CTM010 TPM module.
My problems arise due to the flaky Gigabyte BIOS/firmware and/or Win 11 WIP software.
Turn PC on and it will sometimes freeze at the loading screen, wheel of doom turns 90° then freezes. Sometimes it works OK!
Reset PC & press F10 for BIOS bootloader, select Win 11 & it boots perfectly!
To add to the conundrum if I remove my two PCIe USB cards the system works perfectly without F10 intervention.
I have pestered Gigabyte through the support channnel but they just repeat the same mantra my two USB cards are not on the QVL list!
Both cards work perfectly in my 12 year old X99 box. I did try a simple 2 channel USB card & it works OK.
My two cards are both 4 channel devices with dual chipsets on board.

Thank you for this. That might explain those momentary hangs I've been experiencing on my non-compliant X99 platform. They're not critical hangs but they are certainly annoying. I did not experience these with Windows 8.1 and I do not experience it on Win 7U. The drivers are all current and to the best of my knowledge none of the drivers I'm using are in beta. I do however use a Thunderbolt 3 card that connects to a native header on the board in addition to the PCIe. I also use a USB 3.1 card for additional USB access in the front of my case. It would be a shame to have to pull these cards but I suppose I won't know if it is the cause of the issue until which time I do so.

The 6900K chip I'm using was released in May of 2016. Windows 11 was released in 2021. So not even 5 years later my platform is rendered obsolete by MS. Not a happy camper. Not impressed. Considering that the value of the system board and CPU at the time of release was around $3K Canadian that's a pretty pricey kick in the teeth. To add insult to injury Intel pulled the software for TBMT 3.0 and recommended disabling it in the BIOS but did nothing in the way of offering any remedy for that eyesore in the device manager that keeps telling me something is wrong with one of my devices. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. But hey, it's an MS OS so it's not as though they didn't drop the ball either. I'm sure there's a way the boys at Microsoft could alter the code a little so that bang in my device manager disappears, but the reality is that they don't care. And ... lest I receive any lectures on how I should not install Windows 11 on a non-compliant platform I have the same issue on a "Windows 11 Ready" (according to ASUS) and Windows 11 compliant (certified through MS compatibility check) platform. So no. Windows dropped the ball on this and they should fix it.

Of course I wouldn't throw away such an expensive system! I would just bypass compatibility check and install Windows 11 in my system. I could not care less about Microsoft's warning that all Hell will break loose. Plain BS! Nothing will happen. The only thing I am missing are features not supported by my hardware, such as AI, but for the time being I don't need them, so I don't care either. I decide when my computer is obsolete, not Microsoft or anyone else!

Compare: New hardware is supposed to run Windows 10 or 11 only. However workarounds exists for some hardware to run Windows 7, if wanted.

This X99 work station is Windows 7 compliant. It is also Windows 10 compliant but I was never a big fan of Win 10 so I've never had it on this Work Station. At some point I might just give X-Lite a go just for curiosity's sake. I certainly agree with your view as to who decides when your computer is obsolete. I'm not a big fan of AI or Co-Pilot either. The things I do with my PC don't require any of those things and I wish MS would stop trying to ram them down my throat. Alas, bangs bug me. I'm too conditioned not to be annoyed by them.

← Whenever I see one of these in device manager I have to eliminate it. I don't consider it optional. I can't leave it dangling in device manager. How ironic that I only found a way to make it disappear after I bought a replacement board and CPU because I could not find a way to make it go away! Nobody in this forum could either and I have every confidence in the expertise of the folks in this forum. Light years beyond my own. So yeah, I bought a replacement board and a different CPU. You can well imagine my chagrin when I discovered that the same issue was present on a Windows 11 ready X299 system board and an Intel® Core™ i9-7960X CPU. I had to put this baby to bed so-to-speak. Now I don't recommend anyone do this but . . .

What sort of risk do you suppose I am taking when I turn off "memory integrity" in "core isolation"? Because that is the only way I know how to make that ugly warning to go away.
