Yeah - this is especially true if you have an optane memory drive.

I had the same problem when I tried to restore an image on my desktop that has a NVMe PCIe drive. I was using a rescue disk that was made on my old computer and my NVME drive wasn't listed. I tried a new rescue disk made on my HP laptop and it worked. As for the rescue disk made on my laptop, the drivers should be the same. Both laptops are HP laptops with Intel motherboards and NVMe PCIe drives. Plus, the rescue disk worked on my desktop. My sister-n-law now has the laptop so I can't do any more with it. I only wanted to make the image in case something happened and she needed to return it.

For Samsung, any third-party drivers are optional. (for the NVMe SSD) Samsung NVMe SSDs can use the Microsoft driver, IIRC.

I tried both of my rescue disk on my desktop and my laptop early this morning and they worked. I would like to know why they wouldn't work on her new laptop.

Im having this same problem. Im using windows 11 x64 pro with GPT Partition C drive as boot. it will not show up in Hirens Boot cd or anyother WinPe I have tried. I have set the flashdrivee with rufus twice to MBR and GPT and same issue. I am in uefi with secure boot in bios. All my other drives show up even my m.2 thats in GPT partition. i want to build my own WInPE but have no idea whats going on. Any help or pointed in the right direction will be appreciated. Thank you!

It is a feature on many recent oem machines to require irst drivers to be loaded/installed in boot media. You could check on the oem website.

Quite likely these

Your own two machines might not need that, but maybe your sister's laptop does.

I was under the impression that macrium would detect and add any needed drivers from the current installation into the boot media it creates.. Perhaps it doesnt.

Or you could borrow the boot media I made a little while back, which people have reported works for dell, hp and acer tigerlake machines and check if that can see the disks.

This is the laptop and it's almost exactly like my wife's laptop that the rescue disk does work on. My sister-n-law now has the laptop and she is very happy with it. I did take it out of S mode. HP Laptop 15-dw3013dx Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

It is a driver issue as I said.

Macrium can only handle what information it is has available. Regrettably is is not clairvoyant.

Find out the driver you need, and make sure it is included on the rescue drive.

I no longer have the laptop. I looked at the Storage controllers on my PowerSpec desktop and my HP laptop. The desktop is using the Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller, the Microsoft VHD Loopback Controller and the Standard NVM Express Controller. The laptop is using the Microsoft Storage Spaces Controller and the Standard NVM Express Controller. I could be wrong but I don't see my sister-n-law's HP laptop using any drivers other than the Microsoft drivers. If I'm looking at the wrong drivers then let me know what drivers I should be looking at.

You can identify the driver it uses on her laptop from device management, then copy it to Reflect Rescue Drive

What would the driver be listed under in Device Manager? Like I said my desktop and my laptop are using MS drivers. I see no reason why the driver wouldn't have been in the WIn RE emergency disks I made. I don't know about the Win PE emergency disks I made. My desktop has an Intel board and my laptop has an AMD board. Even My wife's HP laptop is using the same MS drivers.

Edit: The reason I ask is because I don't know when we will see her again and she has the laptop.
