I've refurbished and upgraded tens of not even hundreds of HP laptops not so very long ago. And I have to tell you, it's a freaking pain to find the right RAM modules for these devices.

I've also done the same for Thinkpads and they gladly accept almost anything you give them.

ok so the computer boots into UEFI. I suspect something happened to your disk drive during upgrade

Open the image in Paint. Crop it to just the important part, resize it to make it smaller if necessary too. The file size limit for uploads is 1.5MB, you need to be able to make your saved file smaller than that.

I have done that. That's the only way I can get it to start after doing the HP BIOS Recovery.

Well.. based on my guess as to the model it's DDR4.. it would be nice if we knew what model. But if you look at the two he has listed the original is DDR4 and the new is DDR3
