Solved Crashes after Windows 11 upgrade and driver updates after hardware change.

I got the ram you suggested, in a sealed box (they did try to give me an unsealed one first), so thanks for the reminder on that. Only one stick runs.

Board single slot is A2. Two stick config is A2/B2
Where S1/S2 is Stick 1, Stick 2:

S1 in A2 = Runs
S1 in A2, S2 in B2 = No post
S2 in A2 = No post

So like. It just looks like a bad stick right. But being as it may the first set was bad, the second set being also bad is really atrocious luck, isn't it? Am I missing something?

I have opened another thread
If that's inappropriate let me know but it seems more appropriate there, now that the windows BSOD doesn't appear to be the key issue.

I'd be worried about a faulty motherboard or CPU RAM controller, if it fails to boot, or crashes with S1 in B2!

Did you try S1 in B2?

Will attempt now. I haven't tried moving S1 around to other slots.

I reseated both sticks and it posted. I may have made a mistake and hastily not done the basics. Apologies for wasting your time. I will run memtest overnight and report in tomorrow.

That's a common whoops, even when it looks like they're in properly!

My ROG Strix B550-F Gaming system (system two) crashed when running Superposition and after turning it off then back on, it failed to boot and got the LED for RAM! After I reseated the RAM on my second rig, it's been OK. That was many weeks ago.

I suspected that happened to me, because I changed the CPU cooler to a liquid cooler and the motherboard bowed a little bit.

In my case, looks like if I put pressure down on the motherboard, then I must reseat the RAM, or the RAM likely will become "disappeared" when it's operating.

The RAM is supposed to be installed in slots A2 and B2.
That's the 2nd and the 4th slots counting away from the CPU to the right.

I marked the proper slots with BLUE dots... (the grey slots)

By the way... just because the computer won't boot, with the new RAM, doesn't necessarily mean the RAM is bad.
On some motherboards, you need to set the RAM frequency, timings and voltage... manually.

Yea, it wasn't that it wasn't booting, the board wasn't even posting. However, yea this stuff appears to be good. I ran a test on it overnight after seating it properly (it defaulted to 4800) and then I turned on EXPO before work and ran it again on that at 5600 and it passed both tests at like 8 or 9 passes. I installed the probably unnecessary but much shinier and slightly quieter PSU just now as well and everything is running well.

The ram has a lot of play even after the jaws close around it, enough that I could easily wiggle it away from the board enough to cause it to fail. It might be normal increase in tolerances or it might be that this board or range of boards leaves extra room there for whatever reason. Either way, I'm okay with that being a little irksome and also happy to live with it as long as they don't vibrate loose or something, which seems unlikely.

I'm still bemused by my experience at Memory Express. They told me they did "at least 5 passes" of testing on the first set of ram but they only had it for 25 minutes, so that seems unlikely. They also tried to pass me an already open box of this ram when I purchased it. Car salesmen levels of jank.
I appreciate all the help guys. I may try some overclocking down the road
Now I have two days of meetings to attend :) yay.

Good job. Also, I gave you ten cookies for filling out all your computer specs. :-)

The ASUS board I had before this one... also had sloppy RAM slots.
