Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview Dev
I did a clean install of Windows 11 the other day and updated to the latest beta version. I was previously using a canary build with out issue. I have updated to the latest bios. I have a AMD Ryzen 5 2600X cpu, 16 GB ram, a 1TB WD NVME Boot drive, and an RX 550 to name a few specs. I have updated all drivers using Iobit Driver Booster. There's no reason my PC should be running this slow! Any troubleshooting tips?

I could write volumes on what I THINK you've done wrong, but I won't.
I'd just make you mad, and you wouldn't be helped. So I'll leave it up to the EXPERTS to tell you.

Good Luck.

Windows 11, right out of the box, is a mess. There are things running that probably shouldn't be, and things that maybe should be, that aren't.
After the basic install, it takes me at least another hour to clean out the MS BS (as I call it) and tweak it for maximum performance.
I would start by running "MSCONFIG" > Boot, and remove the 30 sec. startup delay. Just remove the zero and leave the '3'. Don't forget to SAVE!
Once cleaned up, tweaked and tuned, Win-11 is a pretty good running OS. Faster than some of the Previous MS offerings.
And actually GOOD for older PC's with limited strength. But, it's never billed as such. Too bad.

I once wrote down everything I did to Win-11, after the initial install. That list filled an entire page in a Legal Pad.
I've been told, that I should write a book. But just like the tips that I post here...nobody would buy the book.
Or the tips that 'Brink' posts in Tutorials, which should ALL be applied to every new install.

Cheers Mates,

I did not know that setting. Changed it, but it makes no difference at all in the restart of my PC. It still is about 1 minute, from clicking the restart button until fully ready. Whereby I have some batches that are activated on the startup (for instance for backing up the Firefox settings to a zipped file to a folder that is backed up regurlarly).

Welcome to the Forum.

Since not many replies, may want to post in the Insider Forum or Installation Forum.

Are you sure the Canary installation was completely removed ? Also, may want to reinstall the Beta.
