Do you use your principal computer for game playing?

  • I use it mostly for games

  • Games are secondary to other uses

  • I have a tower or desktop computer

  • I have a laptop designed for game playing

  • I use laptop(s) and tower/desktops for games

  • I gave up playing games on my computers long ago

  • I hate polls

Results are only viewable after voting.
Well, I tried. You can't play it because it's not available anymore but, there still is a good following
and lots of mods. You're wasting all that power on what?

On awesome games like... 4x4 EVO.
I not only am awesome on this track... I built this track too. :-)

This is what I drive...

I'm puzzled why so many adults seem to use their computers for playing games.
The only games I play are solitaire . . . mostly to clear my head if I'm having a hard time explaining something in a tutorial for my students. Solitaire is so mindless . . .

Cities... not a problem... ( I made this track also)...
Pretty impressed that you could code a game. Way over my head that.
But, a station wagon , really! And to be fair, it looks more like a country
track than a city road map. But, still impressed that you can do that.

No... I didn't code the game. The game comes with a track editor.
Sort of like Unreal's editor.

There used to be a fan website where people could upload tracks or vehicles that they made.
I only made 11 tracks altogether. But there were 1000's of them on the site.
The game comes with 15 tracks, and you can add as many tracks as you want.

Currently I have 66 tracks. I was very picky, about which tracks I downloaded.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
I have Unreal Gold
I don't like fighting real people. I like fighting computer bad guys and monsters. :-)

Don't get me wrong... I've played tons of pvp and pvm. I have no trouble in pvp, I just don't like it.
I "like" battling the evil computer though. :D
The one game I tend to lean towards multiplayer would be Chess. There you have to sit back and put some thinking into it rather then just shooting quick action. Still would like to see some of those developer mods based on Half Life and HL2 run on 11 however! But have to first get some of the titles on once 11 is up and running well on a larger drive however.

So far I was able to get some of the other older Legacy titles only a few installed with the Compatibility Assistant and run as administrator in the right click menu. The game play in W11 compared to 10 but couldn't see as many titles especially Steam at the moment go on.
(and someone on social media couldn't figure out why anyone would dual or multi boot with any previous version of Windows?)

There used to be a fan website where people could upload tracks or vehicles that they made.
I only made 11 tracks altogether.
Sounds like fun actually. Plus it would keep you off the real streets. I picture you as a bit of a James Dean type trouble maker with a hint of cheeky RAOTFLMFAO… would I be correct, James?

Currently I have 66 tracks.
Well, I'm happy that you still like driving. Over the 34 years of teaching , I've had allot
of scary instances. Most turned out to be good drivers but some, well, let's just say that
driving a city bus was not in the cards for them.

I was hoping that EPIC would of kept up there efforts to bring us the 3x in Unreal but,
they dropped the project. still like to play it when I can.

Most of my 4x4 EVO posts are over on Ten Forum
Here:

Starting with post #3524 on page #353 with a bunch more posts till page #357

All my 4x4 EVO stuff with instructions... 4x4 EVO with extra tracks, modern patches, etc.
Plays best with joystick or wheel.

I even included my 4x4 EVO system and hotlaps files.
The system file will give you my Chevy Race SUV. <--- fastest vehicle in the game
There's probably 100+ vehicles to choose from. You can have as many vehicles as you want.
And you can race against my hotlaps... if you think you stand a chance. :D

TIP: Drive with the view shown in the video in post #61 up above in this thread.
You really won't stand a chance if you use any other view.

I presume that would be one of the latest SSD PCIe memory cards rather then a typical 2.5" SSD drive. The titles I was referring to however go back as far as the Legacy 9X and XP NTLDR days, The one thing found on 10 and still not quite as much as expected on 11 of course being the new kid on the block is that a good majority of the older games weren't bound so much to the particular version having a wider platform then seen with your typical gaming system. Word processing and other office wares along with other desktop type softwares including AV and malware/adware protections on the other hand are more apt to require the updated version for each newer Windows.

Well Avidemux is a video editor. :-)
You can't see the complete list since a good many are hidden in the additional toolbars AREA 51, 52 while the screenshot here still shows several of the desktop shortcuts created during the game installs.

I never did get into DOOM while I may have looked over a demo for that one. Besides time spent gaming however the other reasons of course met up with the additional Higher Education other then Electronics plus other career experiences of expediting, shipping, CNC Programming and operations, Tool & Die to add some extra flavoring? :zany:

Familiarizations with the continued growth in Personal Computing technologies adds to some of that. The Gaming factor being a good relaxation while still being another interest to not only see frame rates FPS but debugging software issues. You won't see too much of that with Linux, Solaris, and some other Open Source OSs simply not being a target of the commercialized software market!
Free of bugs! makes for a much more desirable OS when not a gamer in general. While the Windows OS is a common target for an endless variety of malwares the Security industry does well providing protections?! Adbots, Trojan downloaders, viruses, and spywares make for a dreary day in Windows and why MS had to beef up the included with each newer version something new and improved?

COMMERCE however is one of the largest draws for not only shopping now seeing groceries delivered but do your banking online not go out in foul weather to drop a paper envelop into an ATM a local bank, Stand in line for a teller, etc. but transfer funds between checking and saving, pay your bills! Now before it arrives by mail for paperless!, and let's see what Walmart or Kohls' has onsale this week if not PAY LESS FOR THIS NOW ONLINE compared to the Instore pricing on things! BUY NOW TO SAVE!
