Solved Empty Recycle Bin "button" gone from Recycle Bin window

WAIT!!! I just realized that the Empty command is in a command menu that's missing. Yeah, I've just seen your last post while I'm typing this. But I've got that bar in all my other Explorer windows. Whatcha think?

I still have it... but I also have Tabs disabled in File Explorer... I dunno if that makes a difference or not...

Nope. Only third-party tweaker I use is called Power Start menu, and what I have it set to do is give me nothing on the Start menu that I don't want or need. That's it.

What shows up if you run (from the run box)
shell:RecycleBinFolder

Same recycle bin shell that opens in your screenshot?
Also - is the command bar is missing on all explorer instances on that pc?

@Ghot: I don't have tabs disabled, and the command bar shows in the C:, D:, and F: drive Explorer windows, all of them EXCEPT RecBin.
@dacrone: same message. I'll try the Run.

When there's nothing IN the Recycle Bin... I don't have that button anymore...

Run shows same view as clicking my RB taskbar icon, which is what I did to produce the first image in #1 above. But now I see that the command bar is back since I ran DISM. No Empty, though. Even when it's got junk in it, @Ghot.

I dunno. Might be time to check your "spellbook".
Maybe some enemy Wizard has been messing with your spells.

well at least it fixed half of it haha. let me dig through some more old notes and google a bit more.

*one other question: if you go to control panel, go up 2 directories so that the old explorer with ribbon opens and then browse to recycle bin, is the empty button there or still missing/hidden?

Absolutely, @Ghot. Checking my spells even as we type. My "Wise" is intended in the sense of wiseguy and wiseacre, not as in "full of real wisdom." Sure, I've acquired a bunch of that in my 80-odd years, but not enough to claim to be a truly WISE wizard. And my wizardly claims are referenced in my signature line. A little knowledge.

I don't do cumulative previews myself so I'm still on 22631.2428 and the "button" is still there. On update Tues. when I get the release cumulative, I'll let you know if it removes the "button".
MS may be wanting us the use the right click option instead so the cumulative might have removed it.

Ok... here's my guesses...

1. Power Start Menu is the cause?
2. Having Tabs enabled is the cause?
3. 23H2... IF, you have a Microsoft Account attached to your Windows install.

I don't have a MSA attached to Windows and I "don't" have any of the 23H2 stuffies... showing.
No... Copilot, no Gallery, no Notification bell icon at the right end of Task Bar, etc.

My START Menu, just for comparison...

under the more options (ellipses), does it show both "Empty Recycle Bin" and "Restore All Items"? or only the empty option?

@glasskuter : Yeah, I thought of that. Good idea, though. I'm not sure I got to 2506 on my other machine with the Preview thing. I think I did it with just the Enablement P. I know for sure, though, that when I did the Repair install on this machine yesterday, it used the Preview update when I clicked Check for updates, even though my switch (that awful switch) was OFF. Maybe it's a gone switch in RB, or maybe the next PT patches will do something good for a change. This one's compliant; the other, not. That could have had something to do with the updates. I'm tired and sleepy, friends, so I've got to shut down and make the coffee for the AM, and then it's off to bed. G'night all.

only way i can get mine to show that (what yours shows) is when i size the explorer window small enough to cram it next to "view". try to resize your window to that small, hold Ctrl and close it via the X, then relaunch, resize it and see if it spreads the command bar back to normal... worth a shot if its that simple.
