Okay, what is TOS an acronym for?

Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS)

It acquired the retronym of Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS) to distinguish the show within the media franchise that it began.

Thanks Bree, everytime I see TOS, the first thing to mind is Terms of Service as I own and run a ISP and using it for the last 30 years many hundreds of times daily.

I first encountered the term when I was playing Atari games in Pacifist (an Atari ST emulator), I didn't have a real Atari back then. TOS = Tramiel Operating System or The Operating System. Later when I was watching Star Trek on Netflix and wanted to know some more, I saw at the relevant site that the original series is abbreviated TOS. Also Terms Of Service, as you mentioned. As a computer nerd I prefer TOS for the Atari OS.

I think it also has Basic programming language. They wanted to use it as a computer too, but most used it as a game console.

I only mentioned ColecoVision because I remember their ads, I did not own any videȯgame consoles until the Sega Megasystem but I remember ColecoVision had their Sorry Atari ads like this:

I thought the keypad actually came from the IntelliVision from Mattel in 1979 while the keyboard itself came from the ColecoVision ADAM add-on and not the ColecoVision gaming console itself but the ADAM wasn't a Game Console.

Sega Master System, my cousin's first game console. I remember he brought it with him at the Summer vacations at our grand parents house. Our poor grandma was wondering when the news will be on TV. The answer was never since we were busy either watching cartoons or playing Sega games, Hang On, Alex Kidd, Ghouls 'n' Ghosts etc. Great memories. Thankfully I can play them again in a Sega emulator.

The only game I have ever played is Hang On since one of my friends was borrowing and owing money and left the entire system with that one game as collateral in the 1987/1998 era. I still have it here.

My first game console was a Pong clone (tennis) with some more games, such as hockey (extra "fences" on the corners of the screen). It was played with a dial pad for each player. It also had a shooting game with a light gun! This in the early 80's!
