As a result of many drugs or immunisations, so diseases have been virtually eradicated but none have ever been 100% eliminated.

The above is just fake news garbage - usual boring attacks on big drug companies daying they have a vested financial interest in not curing diseases.

I remember looking for the MIDI file version of the song I wanted to create a ringtone from. I then opened the MIDI file with a sequencer to see the music notation and see the melody track. Then I tried my best to convert the melody to the appropriate code for my mobile phone. Different musical coding for Sony-Ericsson, different for Nokia and so on. Thankfully the ability to set a MIDI file directly as ringtone and later an MP3 file vastly simplified the procedure.

PS: Some years earlier I would read the printed music score from a song and convert the melody to BASIC notation using the PLAY command in GW-BASIC in order to hear it because I wasn't that good to play it myself in piano. I even divided two or three notes at equal intervals to simulate chords (BASIC only allowed playing a single note at a set duration). Good times...
