It’s quite weird. On my keyboard I can right click on nearly every key and assign certain functions or macros.

In this thread under Creating key assignments, I can’t check as I don’t have the K100.

Still, if not possible that’s pretty backward.

Not sure if this is relevant, but what happens if you just use the "shift" key for caps instead of 'caps lock'?

@Jacee Sounds like they are bumping Caps Lock accidentally and getting caps when they don’t want them.

Everyone is making this way too hard. The Logitech K350 keyboard uses the Logitech SetPoint program to configure it. I should know because I have a Logitech K350 keyboard. With SetPoint you can disable the Caps Lock key. Note you have to be careful with this because if you disable the Caps Lock key when
  • it is locked it will stay locked. You have to use shift key to get lower case letters
  • it is unlocked it will stay unlocked. You have to use shift to get upper case letters

I went and looked at the OPs 1st post again. You are right he must have been using SetPoint. However, I think I figured it out.
At first I made the same mistake as the OP and then by luck found out what he needs to do to save the checkbox setting.
  • If I select the checkbox to disable the Caps Lock and select OK then the selection is not saved.
  • However, if I select the checkbox to disable the Caps Lock, select Apply and then OK then the selection is saved.

I verified that the checkbox was saved by rebooting Windows 11. When I ran SetPoint again the checkbox was still selected.

Not sure if this might work -- but create a default keyboard with the keys you want and use that as your default keyboard -- you don't need a separate physical keyboard or any convoluted software.

I am using AutoHotKey for that purpose.
Part of the script that is disabling the capslock key:

; *** CapsLock and Shift Capslock - Disable key ***
; CTRL Capslock still functions!
~CapsLock Up:: SetCapsLockState "Off"
CapsLock:: return
+CapsLock:: return

I still can use capslock, by typing the combination of CTRL and capslock key.
That switches capslock on, just capslock key alone switches it off again.

The OP @larrydonline hasn't responded since yesterday. I bet if he tried the SetPoint program again like I did he will find that it actually works to disable the Caps Lock. All the other suggestions here will prove to be unnecessary.

I tried the reg fix and after adding Scancode Map it refused to respond to double clicking on it. I tried the NumLocker program and it could not be written to the program folder during installation. In other words it wouldn't install.

The Capsunlock app doesn't seem to be any better than the Setpoint program at killing capslock. I'll keep reading this thread. Maybe someone will come up with something that works on my computer.

I also installed Autohotkey but couldn't figure out how to use it with capslock.
