I knew it. "Malicious" OneDrive forced installation

It is "hidden" and not obvious during the installation process of Windows. Now we know the intent is is malicious.

I’m not sure what’s malicious about it? They just want to know why we don’t want to use one drive, For statistical reasons it makes sense. I believe many software programs that I’ve ever uninstalled asks the same questions. Just my opinion.
If they ever show another popup saying “Your answer isn’t satisfactory” I’d be concerned.

There's nothing malicious about it, I've seen many apps where this sort of thing happens. If you don't use it, uninstall it and move on.

I used the registry method.

So I don't see any messages when disabling OneDrive.

Btw. I too would not prefer to send answers to questions why I disable something in my system.
It may be rather pushy to force users to send an answer, but malicious it is not.

The way I'm reading the article is that the survey is asking why you want to close OneDrive, not uninstall it. If I ever have a need to close OneDrive and I get the survey I'll just choose Other and type in None of your business.

I thought that at first, but didn’t think even Microsoft would be that obnoxious. And if they are, then it’s going to get brutal. I think they would be making enemies of the wrong, most equipped people.

I’m doing other things right now
I’m currently working on something I don’t want saved yet
My dog likes bananas
I need the recourses right now

Even the startup logo you can replace by something else (if you use any tweaking program like StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher, Start11, OpenShell and what's more out there).

Don't listen to any of them. They've all gone over to the "dark side".
OneDrive is evil incarnate. When evil like OneDrive appears... there's only one solution...

I've probably said it 100 times. OneDrive should be uninstalled immediately after a new Windows install.
In fact, it should be opted out of, when installing Windows (with no internet connection).

There's probably a few "on the road" business types that can glean some advantage from OneDrive.
For the rest it's an almost incurable disease, that infects our computers.

The evil Microsoft will now send hellish minions that will attempt to drag you screaming, back into the OneDrive fold.
Resist them. Hold up your silver cross and back away slowly. They have no power over you.

More like:
"It's going to get to the point where if you use Windows, then OneDrive will be so integrated into it that you cannot strip it down anymore".

The same goes for Edge in that case.

Already it's getting more difficult switching default browsers, if this trend continues, who knows what's next.

It’s called nagging, they can’t stop us from using another browser, United States of America v. Microsoft Corporation pretty much put a stop to that idea. It’s their company, they can nag all they wan’t.
