I knew it. "Malicious" OneDrive forced installation

It is "hidden" and not obvious during the installation process of Windows. Now we know the intent is is malicious.

Perhaps you need to go to Specsavers?

Also term malicious is an exaggeration. Malicious means it does harm.

This action does no harm and is reversible.

At most, one could call it commercially agressive.

Even the startup logo you can replace by something else (if you use any tweaking program like StartAllBack, ExplorerPatcher, Start11, OpenShell and what's more out there).
Sure, you can do that. And suffer the consequences. I have tried them all over the last 35 years,. I'm done with these "malicious" tweaks.

I understand the "current" accepted definition but meanings to words these days are changing rapidly

That's why I used quotes around "malicious". I guess some of the overthinkers here missed that.

There is more to be concerned about than this. Let’s take Meta (Facebook) for instance. On the 26th of Jan 2024, their terms are changing. If you are a FB user then I’d suggest you taking a good long look and read of their upcoming changes. There are some concerning entries and they also put to rest the forever lingering question “Can FB use my photos?” the answer is yes, you post an image, you are giving them a licence to use them. Interpret it as you like, but this issue re a nagging drop box in comparison to your personal liberties & privacy being abused, is a non event.

3. The permissions you give us — Paragraph 4

Specifically, when you share, post or upload content that is covered by intellectual property rights on or in connection with our Products, you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free and worldwide licence to host, use, distribute, modify, run, copy, publicly perform or display, translate and create derivative works of your content (consistent with your privacy and application settings). This means, for example, that if you share a photo on Facebook, you give us permission to store, copy and share it with others (again, consistent with your settings) such as Meta Products or service providers that support those products and services. This licence will end when your content is deleted from our systems.

Rather ambiguous, as are the rest of their terms. Give me a drop box over these types of terms any day. The things we agree to, digitally, are a concern. Windows is no different.
