My computer runs normally since I got the new power supply. Also, I run Sea Tools long generic test, and it passed.

V2 log Collector does not work, so I run the DM log collector, and it run OK except it did not post a file on my desktop as it said it did. I do have a couple new files in my Download folder; zipit.vbs -- 385 bytes and temp --2.58 Kb

I run with the MS A/V. I tried to run the V2 log collector in safe mode and with minimal nothing happened; With Networking it ran as it has before, that is, it looks like it is going to work it just opens up a File Explorer window; see attachment. and it does nothing. Earlier this week I tried to open up the Tuneup folder on my desktop with 7-zip and it flashes a quick window on the screen and then nothing. I spent a lot of time trying to run V2 log with a Command Prompt but how to do it is beyond me.

I have some Got-to-do stuff today so I will be back again with some of the other stuff you asked for.

By the way I also have some other odd things like FAH is running better than it has in the past since last spring, but I can't open the Advanced Control. As such I will be running an Update-Repair soon but now is not a convenient time to do so. I prepare folder first just in case the repair process gives me problems. What you are doing is a bit above my understanding and I am thinking maybe I should have done the Update-Repair first. I reopened this thread to let you know my power supply failed, and I think that it may have been a cause of my problems this spring.

The bad block May to Sept seems right . About early September I wanted to have two external Western Digital HD’s (M&N) go to sleep when they were not used even though I had everything set right for them to do so they would not go to sleep. I used these HD’s for backups, three times a week on one. On the other twice a week and once a month for a monthly backup on the other. I always use a search engine for help before going to Win11 forums or any other support like WD support. Western Digital support and I went around on this problem for about three weeks, and they were disconnected and moved around as WD said each time including to my laptop and when he told to do the same with a third computer I quit. I have used WD external drives on my computers for decades but when these go bad, I get another brand. Poor support lost them a customer.

The device, \Device\Harddisk5\DR5, has a bad block. This would likely be my “M” or “N” external drives. When I downloaded Hard Drive Sentinel, I looked at all five of my drives and they seemed to be OK. But I had earlier went to “This PC- M and N then properties- Tools’ and clicked on the ‘check’ button. All were OK. In spite of good direction from more than one site I have never been able to run a chkdsk on an external drive. Every time I put in a new drive in for my “C” drive I run chkdsk. And some of the new drives have had bad spots.

We have four kids and nine granddaughters (and three greats) of which all but two have a husband or serious boyfriend that comes to all family parties. My wife and one daughter and I will be busy today through Sunday and as my wife has a very bad back that always is in pain. I will do all you requested on all five drives, but it may take a while. I’m cooking a four-pound top round roast, and it will come out of the pot with a spoon and fork.
