I never said speed wasn't important -- but like all these things it's cost vs what you actually want to achieve. For example automated Stock trading systems need the fastest speed possible at whatever the cost.If you read my posts properly, you would see I said V8.1 is still better than paying a lease if you do not wish to.
This post was predominantly aimed at people who use Macrium Reflect but would not switch to VX.
I rather object to people saying speed is not important - if that was true, everybody would drive much less powerful cars, using your (rather obfuscating) car analogy.
Sure, for many, Image backup speed may not be important.
For me it is - I do not have to justify to anybody why that is - it's my personal preference.
For individuals it's a choice - and nobody is asking you to justify your preferences -- the thread here was IF Macrium was becoming too expensive what would you use -- which implies at least a different solution.
Macrium V8 Free still works in a lot of cases too although later versions of Windows with bitlocker / encryption and other changes in the bootloader might render future working not guaranteed.
