I've just realised I have quite a lot of wifi cards I have a couple of boxes of parts of Eee PC's. I have a 10" one with a Broadcom wifi card and that connects to our wifi even when installing Windows 11. I think the smaller ones are broadcom wifi cards as well. I never did like replacing them though - fiddly cables/aerials.
Yes it's a spare laptop. And I have the updated driver now and can just add it after initial install It's a poor show though when a 2015 Spectre X360s wifi card can't see my wifi, but a 2012 Eee pc picks up my wifi straight away whatever I install on it! (Including Windows 11). So it's definitely a wifi card thing. The eee pc's have the broadcom wifi cards and I have a bunch of those. But can't see the point in changing it now when I have the right driver to install.

Other Info
I own too many laptops: A Dell touch screen with Windows 11 and 6 others (not counting the other four laptops I bought for this household.) Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
