This is on both laptop and desktop. I don't use Bluetooth, so it is a mystery why it keeps corrupting itself.

Unfortunately this is a deployment flaw in the 226xx installer that can't be fixed within DISM based updating, the original install has placed these files directly into system32 instead of creating them as a hardlink to the location under WinSxS, so every time they are updated in a culmulative update they will be flagged as corrupt in the driver folder as they are an older version than what is in WinSxS, SFC will copy/replace the outdated versions with the newer ones, so long as they aren't currently loaded and in use.

NTFS FS API's don't allow sym and hardlinks to overwrite an existing file, so even when microsoft fixed this in the servicing the affected machines will continue to periodicaly replace this file during SFC when an updated version is in the repository because DISM skips over the wrongly placed existing file.

OK - here's another weird question for the crew.

Via our Visual Studio (MSDN) access from work - I have access to the "real" 23H2 Business and 23H2 Consumer ISOs direct from MS - released on 10/31/2023

Yesterday - I tested a clean install from these ISOs and once on the desktop - even this ISO did not give me the actual Windows 11 23H2 version of 22631.2506. I had to hit Windows update and download another 3 or 4 updates.

WinVer now confirms I should be good:

Why would MS "brand" these official ISO as 23H2 (en-us_windows_11_business_editions_version_23h2_x64_dvd_a9092734) and then not even install OS version 22631.2506 straight away?

If I try to install though I get error Download error - 0x80246019

I had same problem, I toggled get latest updates on then off. when I turned it off this time it downloaded the package again and it installed.

I think MS seriously screwed up somewhere with 23H2 hahaha

I used the enablement package to get 23H2 last week so I thought I would conduct a test tonight after seeing that my Mom just got offered the 23H2 update on her laptop:

1. Uninstalled Feature Update via enablement package
2. Rebooted system and updates uninstalled
3. Check for Updates with "Get Latest Features" toggled on - nothing available
4. Toggled "Get Latest Features to OFF and checked updates --- BOOM 23H2 is available now and busy installing as per below

Further to my post above - did some more digging and I now see that in my install - which is confirmed to be 22631.2506 - I do not see any evidence of Copilot whatsoever. Nothing in the Taskbar and even no options to toggle it on or off when I view Taskbar Settings.

Now this is an Enterprise build - so I am wondering if that has anything to do with this. BUT - I do see Copilot in Edge - go figure.

Seems the MS has managed to make this rollout as painful and complex as humanly possible - even with their own official ISOs.

From what is understand Copilot should have been available by default in 22631.2506 but have read here that you must be signed into a MS Account for it to show up.

I'm pretty sure you need to be logged in to your Microsoft Account, to see Copilot.
Even that isn't always enough though.

Somewhere, @Brink posted the Vivetool ID numbers, to turn Copilot... ON.

Interesting - and that answers my question as I am not logged into this test VM with my MS acct.

You don't actually need to sign into Windows with your MS account. A local account with an MS account that can be used by other apps is sufficient.

Should i stay with setup i got now? don't see no problems at the moment and everything appears to be work fine, including even Bluetooth

You should be fine as you are. The only difference between manually installing the enablement package and getting Window Update to do it for you is that Windows Update will record it in its Update History.

If that bothers you, then you could always uninstall the enablement package and get it through Windows Update.

It should show up as an optional update if you turn off 'Get the latest updates...' then click Check for updates.

I had not realised that there was a difference in update records.
I do my updates manually.
I generally check for update records in Event viewer but would have been quite thrown if I'd glanced at WU Update history and noticed its omissions.

Ugh. My Win11 RTM VM got updated as normal to 22631.2506. My Desktop? Nope.
