26120 is the Dev build, 24H2. That seems to have been playing the part of the 'beta test' platform for RTM 24H2 for some time now.

I addressed that in post #18, probably not until RTM 23H2 goes EoL.

I wish MS would stop this nonsense with the drivers. If memory serves the first time we really started to have well defined policies on how to block Windows updates, was around the time of w7 release when MS started with the driver nonsense. (there were some options back in XP days, MBSA and trawling though the update catalogue but AFAIK they were very little used by the larger public)
The truth is that for the overwhelmingly vast majority of users new drivers don't make a difference and can lead to trouble when their 15 years old sound system is no longer recognized. For the minority for which it does make a difference, they are well aware of what they need and can and do install updated drivers from the various manufacturers for their specialized area of interest.

Had to use UUP to install latest release since I was booted off beta, RP, and dev through windows update. I contacted MS support and gave all the info to level one support. She escalated my issue to next level. I sat on hold for about 15 minutes, was abruptly disconnected and received the printed version of how to recover from CANARY issues. I just want back on insider status on this computer.

If I remember correctly, Microsoft does not provide any support for Insider builds. I had the same problem before where Windows Update will not show the new build as seen here and the fix was this (option 1, step 3 is what usually fixes it):

I remember early on the forums here, I said I was in Insiders since the beginning and your response was "believe me that it shows" when you didn't believe me and I'm the one who is telling you how to fix the problem for someone who is supposedly in insiders since the beginning.

Thanks for info. Yes I’ve been booted off insider status before and eventually got back on. Ms does respond to insider issues but support is very limited. I think some people get confused about insider versus forum members.

Mines launches without any issues. My problem is in the last two Beta's, it seems like a tab can be no longer clickable for the folders and files and I can go to another directory but the files/folders are still not clickable until I close and open a new tab.

The only problem I see is what it may look like a significant delay on closing file explorer when this experimental feature is enabled.
I found later that is not actually a delay but a mistake in handling the mouse pointer.

I had to disable the feature id to get rid of the problem, but that caused some other issues later.

Note that the same labels are used by default with 24H2 builds without causing this side effect.

Updated a second machine to Beta 22635.4660.
This time MS enabled directly this File explorer labels feature, and I ended up with the same bug.
File explores does not close when I press the X red button on the right corner.

Adding bugs seems the MS specialty recently.

As a workaround, I click on the X for the tab, instead of the red X on the right corner, that seems to close without problem.

Edit:
I tried to reset that feature ID, but that did not work this time, it causes another File Explore crash, I had to restore a backup to get out of that situation because I couldn't even open command prompt to reenable that feature id.

I found another workaround for the problem when closing file explorer using the red X on the right corner with Build 22635.4660.
As explained earlier the problem only happens after MS enabled the labels in the F.E. context menu in this Beta Build.

I added an update and recording on the FBH report.

When I click on the red X in the right corner, nothing happens, but if I move the mouse pointer away from the button after I click, then File Explorer finally closes.
Silly and annoying behavior, it sure looks like an added bug in 23H2 Beta, since there is no problem with 24H2.

I reproduced this behavior on 3 different machines with 22625.4660.

Here is the animation of the problem, when I click on the red X nothing happens until I move the mouse pointer away from it, then F.E. finally closes.

Clearly a programming mistake.

On Jan 11, 2025, MS decided to remove the labels again from the F.E. context menu, that also eliminated the problem on closing F.E. when clicking on the red X on the right corner. It now closes correctly.

You can see here that the feature ID is no longer enabled, and the labels are no longer showing in the context menu.
I checked a second machine, and it still has the labels in context menu and also the closing bug that came with it.

Edit:
I noticed also that the list of experimental features between the 2 machines with the same Beta build has way too many other differences to even try to isolate what each one does. MS is not making this any easier to figure out.

See the difference here on this animation, F.E. closes immediately when I click on the red X.
