Insider KB5053656 Windows 11 Insider Release Preview build 26100.3624 (24H2) - March 24

UPDATE 3/27:

 Windows Blogs:

Hello Windows Insiders, today we’re releasing Windows 11 Build 26100.3624 (KB5053656) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 11, version 24H2 (Build 26100).

This update includes all of the same improvements and fixes from Build 26100.3613 plus the additional features gradually rolling out for Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs.

Gradual rollout

The following features and improvements might not be available to all users because they will roll out gradually. Text bolded in brackets indicate the area of the change being documented.

[Improved Windows Search]
  • New! Finding your documents, photos, and settings across Windows 11 is easier on Copilot+ PCs with improved Windows Search, powered by semantic indexing models along with traditional lexical indexing. Whether it’s searching in File Explorer, in the Windows Search on your taskbar, or in Settings – just type what’s on your mind to find it on your Copilot+ PC. You no longer need to remember file names, exact words in file content, or settings names. Searching for settings like “change my theme” will work within the Settings app for now. Thanks to the power of the 40+ TOPS NPU onboard Copilot+ PCs, these search improvements work even when you’re not connected to the internet. For more info, see semantic search on Copilot+ PCs. Available on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, with support for AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs coming soon.
  • New! Locating your photos stored and saved in the cloud is getting simpler on Copilot+ PCs You can use your own words in the search box at the top right corner of File Explorer like “summer picnics”. In addition to photos stored locally on your Copilot+ PC, photos from the cloud will now show up in the search results together. Exact matches for your keywords within the text of your cloud files will also show in the search results. You can try this experience out today with your personal OneDrive when signed in with your Microsoft account and connected to the internet. To learn more, see semantic search on Copilot+ PCs. Available on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs, with support for AMD and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs coming soon.

Thanks,
Windows Insider Program Team

My wife who is an artist has been having some interesting results using AI to create art, quality is not always that great, but some interesting ideas are created. Throw in some random words, and see what happens

I tried to update a 3rd Desktop that was with R.P. build 26100.3613 and Windows update was trying to switch me to Dev and download Build 26120.3660.
Another Screwup from MS. 😂🤬🤷‍♂️
I had to Pause Updates, delete Software Distribution folder delete the SelfHost Key and reboot then rejoin Release Preview channel.
After that I resumed updates and finally, I got the correct one for the R.P. channel.
Really weird behavior. 😂😂🤬

Agree, they still did not make up their mind on how to fix it. 🤣🤣🤷‍♂️
  • [File Explorer] Fixed: The “see more” (…) menu in the File Explorer command bar opens in the wrong direction in some cases.
This issue has been fixed in 26100.3624. It is being rolled out gradually and requires the correct CFR Keys to activate this fix.

The associated CFR Keys for this fixed are 861440142, 593004686. I changes the 861440142, 593004686 keys under 4 in the registry FeatureManagement\Overrides, and now the problem has disappeared.

I'll wait for MS to roll it out.

Hopefully coming to you soon as Uncyler825 says it's a gradual rollout. I can't believe how long it's taken for such a silly bug.

You can join the Release Preview Channel, which will activate these CFRs. Vivetool also uses CFR keys and uses corresponds to different IDs. This is how Microsoft "Gradual rollout" works.

Just like you use vivetool /disable /id:51960011 command to disable Servicing_FileExplorerTabLineFix,51960011 to temporarily solve the problem.

ID:51960011 = CFR:2547961487

There are certain (actually a lot of) features that are hidden in Windows and are not rolled out to everyone, not even to all the insiders. But these features can be enabled by third party tools like ViVeTool. CFR keys is real Feature IDs.

I'm already in the Release Preview Channel, but did not get the fix yet with Build 26100.3624. 🤷‍♂️

It is now fixed in my Dev Channel with Build 26200.5510. 😉🤷‍♂️

It's not rolled out to everyone. Bro. Microsoft uses CFRs to control feature activation states. You can activate these IDs manually. Just like you use vivetool tool.

btw.

If you update Windows 11 24H2 via the DISM command then the system will not have "Gradual rollout" activated. You must touch the Check for Updates button in Windows Update to get the CFR keys updated.

My updates were done with Windows Update.
I always get the new bugs from MS and rarely the fixes. 🤣🤣🤣

I know that Disabling 51960011 gets rid of the problem, but I was waiting for MS official fix, they are sure taking way too long.
They had this bug for over 4 months.

Now. It has been fixed for me. You can have VM virtual machine, I used VM virtual machine to check CFR activation status and manually activate the fixes, then update Windows in the real system and apply the CFR registry. I can also get early access to unreleased features on the GAC channel.
