I can't remember what version it was, but my 1st windows os ran off a 5.25 floppy disk ....long long time ago. :-)

Didn't realise you were an electronics engineer. I dabbled a bit myself in my first job. That was mainly with valves and discrete transistors in the 60's. Forgotten most of it now.

Yes, digital electronics for me. In the 70's I joined the EMI Central Research Lab's Audio department, fresh out of uni with a degree in Computing & Communications engineering. There I was in a small team designing and building a digital audio recorder for Abbey Road studios. Got to go there myself as the recorder operator for a number of recording sessions. This one, I think, was the highlight of my career when I met Andre Previn. I designed and built about 25%-30% of the cards in the rack below this data recorder.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

Just had a pleasant surprise from my ISP. They have upgraded my connection to 250Mb download 25Mb upload. Just ran Speedtest

Impressive. Mine was much more modest. My first job was as a lab assistant in a lab researching gas chromatography. It's mainstream now but then it was brand new. We had to build all our own equipment. I learned all sorts of useful skills there. Electronics, metal working, glass blowing, oh and putting out fires.

Ha! No fires as such in my career, but some smoke. I quickly learned to recognise (and dread) the smell of an IC that had burnt out and emitted a jet of epoxy vapour.
