Strange that there's no mention of new, 800 series chipset which is supposed to be released in July when Ryzen 9000 is supposed to be on sale.
As for 24H2. isn't it slated for June 18th to be generally available ?
800 chipset likely not coming until September, the new 9000 CPUs are launching next month but will work on 600 boards

Actually, only parts of what was called South bridge will have something new and improved. USB4.0, All PCIe 5.0, possibly 6. Nothing to do with CPU. I've heard only about X870 chipset. One thing is sure, more expensive.

What you you mean by that?
What I meant about --> "just had to copy and paste from the packages folder to the binaries folder"
is these folders..
C:\AMD\Chipset_Software\Packages\IODriver\'driver-package-sub-folders'\ --> C:\AMD\Chipset_Software\Binaries\
copying the sub folder that contains the [W11x64] and [WTx64] driver folders..

to the binaries folder because it always errors out for me... when I try to install and don't do it..

I'm guessing the 'PPM Provisioning File Driver' is for AM5? I have AM4 and 5900X and this driver doesn't get installed.

I'm on AM4 and it installed for me.
I think the installer checks your system, and installs whatever it needs to.

Mine has always installed all 5 parts.

But... I do have drivers included with Windows Updates, blocked.
That may have something to do with it.

Maybe you're getting your PPM driver from MS?

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
New AMD Ryzen chipset driver 6.07.22.037 available. See first post for more details. :-)

That could explain the 2 days of painful restore to my system, the drives were installed and factory reset twice, to get a second monitor to finally display.

that works now, but a new problem arised!
My headset's microphone, no longer outputs my voice, no sound.
(found that out when I had to join a business call from home)

So now I should manually copy/replace the binaries to my C:\AMD folder?

Specs:
Amd Ryzen 5 6600H 6 cores 12 logical processors
Integrated Radeon Graphics 512MB vram at DDR5 2400 MHz

Cheers :win::copilot:

tl;dr Don't use the big button at the top of the linked page in the OP. Scroll down and navigate to your specific chipset and download those drivers. These are different files for me, and only the latter work correctly.

I went to the page linked in the OP and used the big button "Download Windows Drivers" at the top to download the file "amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.7.1-minimalsetup-240718_web.exe". Running this program produced the expected dialog box with the buttons for the various drivers, all checked, but hovering over several of them produced tooltips stating that the action would be to downgrade to an earlier version. I canceled and went back to the page linked in the OP and scrolled down to the section titled "Search or Browse Drivers and Support by Product". There, I clicked on "Chipsets" from the "Browse Products" list, then "AM4", then "B550", which is the model number of my chipset. This downloaded the file "amd_chipset_software_6.07.22.037.exe". This matches the version number cited in the OP, but not the file downloaded by clicking on the big button at the top of the linked AMD page. It produced the same dialog box as the first program, but unlike the first program, all the drivers were either current or updates. I don't know if it's always like this, but it could mess up people who aren't paying very close attention.

That was earlier today. I just redownloaded the file using the big button with the intent to quote the text I saw in the tooltips concerning downgrading drivers, but having since run the chipset-specific installer mentioned above, this "amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.7.1-minimalsetup-240718_web.exe" program isn't letting me get this far. Instead of buttons for all the drivers, the dialog box it produces contains the error message, "Oops! Something went wrong. Error 182 - AMD Software Installer detected AMD graphics hardware in your system configuration that is not supported." That's totally bogus, as my 5800X doesn't have graphics, and my video card is by Nvidia. The chipset-specific installer "amd_chipset_software_6.07.22.037.exe" continues to run correctly.

agreed, I installed the AMD Software PRO editition instead.
and the fact you have an nvidia might be a reason to cause those errors

As I described, the program "amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.7.1-minimalsetup-240718_web.exe" didn't produce an error the first time. Presumably, if I had gone ahead and clicked "Install", it would have happily downgraded several of my drivers. It was only after running "amd_chipset_software_6.07.22.037.exe" that it produced the error. FWIW, I had last installed chipset drivers on 7/11/24 using "amd_chipset_software_6.05.28.016.exe". One explanation could be that the "minimalsetup" program will offer to install drivers only if there is at least one it can update to a newer version, and there was one such driver in addition to several others it would have downgraded per the tooltips over its buttons.
