The difference between these latest Radeon AFMF2 software/drivers and the recent August 2024 release of the official 24.8.1 software/drivers is as follows:

Updated drivers
Windows AMD Driver
Vulkan API
Direct 3D
Vulkan
Open CL
Open GL

Updated software
Radeon UI

For some reason the AMD Audio Driver has been walked back to an earlier version.

Not sure if I'll install these as the 24.8.1 drivers/software are stable currently after having a very gnarly issue with black screens and crashes (no BSODs) related to either the display and/or graphics.
I've installed it and don't have any issues - I'm not into gaming and watch movies, surf the internet and lite games. At least the popup of the Adrenaline application is not present after resume from sleep.

Warning, create a restore point before installing this update.

The installer crashed during the install and at the end asked me to send them a report. It asked too many useless questions, like what game was I playing, etc., everything seemed to be okay, so I just X'd it. Then when I tried the AMD Adrenalin software, I was told it was not compatible with the currently installed AMD graphics driver. For information on how to resolve this you go to www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-300.

There you can run the AMD software compatibily tool which starts up fine and then quits saying it could not download the sh*t it needs, 😭

Luckily, the system had created a restore point a few hours earlier when I updated the windows operating system. This is the first time I have ever had a problem installing AMD Adrenalin drivers.

You have an AMD APU processor with IGPU Radeon™ 780M so driver may be confused, disable it in BIOS, DDU drivers and reinstall them.

It is not useless questions
It is important information so they can understand what happened and why it crashed

Sometimes mine don't even crash but just because I noticed some lag in game
I immediately send a report and sometimes I get an answer like
Please use previous version Drivers with this game

Isn't that something good

I tried to install the PRO driver version and got the same result. I did fill out their requestor as best as possible and after I hit the submit button, it gathered a lot more information from my system before it was sent to AMD. I hope it helps them.

Thanks, I may try that when I get some time. Right now the bios for the IGPU is set to auto and I have not had any problems installing previous drivers.

Ak
I also had issues but during install there's a dropdown menu and I selected the minimal setup and that installed ok.

Anyway having proper monitor resolution issue with this and the last set of drivers ???

Oddly since moving to 24.20.11.01, and now 24.9.1, I can't get my monitor to properly set to it's native resolution of 3840 x 2160. Picking that setting under Display settings. This is my main rig shown in system specs....

Display Resolution.jpg

Gets this...

Incorrect-Monitor-Resolution.jpg

And oddly in the Adrenalin package under "Display", the resolution is locked in 4096 x 2160, which is the incorrect setting, even though Windows shows a chosen setting of 3840 x 2160 ...

Incorrect.... (4096 x 2160)
Main Rig AMD Res Setting.jpg
I know the issue isn't the monitor because I connected it to my backup system and zero issues there. Also on that machine the correct resolution settings are shown there under Display....

Correct native monitor resolution (Windows 10 backup system) - 3840 x 2160.
AMD Reso size.PNG

And yes, I did a complete driver uninstall on the main rig using the AMD cleanup tool, and still the above is happening. This is with an Ezio 27-inch 4K monitor (CG2700 X). Whatever happened, happened overnight while the PC was sleeping.

BTW, choosing 4096 x 2160 stretches the screen wide but leaves a top and bottom border. Again, not correct.

So its fine to leave them both enabled in UEFI bios i take it then?

Still a bit new to AMD Ryzen Platform, but have learned alot since July

Most (except "F" models) Intel CPUs have IGPU too and should have driver installed if it's enabled in BIOS without regard of dedicated GPU or it's make. Without a driver it could present a problem. If you are not using video outputs from motherboard, you might as well disable IGPU from BIOS and save few Watts of power and couple of degrees of temperature. I use mine for secondary monitor so it doesn't cut into performance of dedicated graphics.

Yeah i only have one Monitor on this AMD desktop, mainly just trying to figure out why when i right click AMD Adrealin Software pops up, and covers whatever im doing for a brief second, til i manually close it.

Did submit a bug report to AMD on that as well, and captured a small little video on the issue
