We will never fix the wisdom of the Microsoft Windows Update Steamroller. It does a simple check, and that simple check always decides that the Unified Driver is much less suitable than the manufacturer driver (even if it's older) or that the inbox driver is better.

I need help. What do users do when they no longer have the drivers for their monitor? Will the Intel drivers help? I have Nvidia graphics card, but am afraid to experiment with it. When I installed Windows the icons looked too fat and blocky. Pictures looked too stretched out. Then I downloaded and installed the drivers for my 24 inch HP w 2338h and everything came back into correct proportion. I saved the drivers but that was several installs ago. And HP says users are out of luck because HP doesn't provide them anymore. And HP cautioned against downloading for non-HP websites as they could have viruses. So what do users do?
