All three of my Logitech M510 mice are much newer than yours.
04/05/2017 1 x Logitech MK550 wireless combo (K350 keyboard and M510 mouse)
11/27/2020 2 x Logitech M510 mice

When I built the desktop in 2017 it had intermittent problem with the Logitech MK550 wireless combo. Eventually it stopped working. I fixed it by buying a new Logitech Unifying Receiver.

I suggest you download and install the Logi Bolt app to see if you can use it to pair the M510 mice.

The Logitech support site for the Logitech M510 mouse does show a firmware update tool. I don't know if that would solve your problem.

The "older" Unifying Receiver software had a firmware updater in it too and that has not kicked back an update in years.

I will try the Logi Bolt app and see what that does - but it is looking more and more like a "vintage" M510 is not the same as a "last 5 years" M510 in terms of overall support.

This is also probably why no one on the Logitech Support team had any idea about why this wasn't working when I engaged them on this last summer. They acted like I was out of my mind.

Went ahead and ordered a new M510 yesterday and Options+ loaded it up instantly.

So I was correct all along. In order to actually use an M510 with Options+ - the model must be a certain "newer" vintage that what I was using prior.

I have retired these old 2011-era models and can consider this solved.

Cheers!

Yes, but some folks only use the Bolt app and don't want / need Options+. Not me, I've been using Options+ as one of the first Beta testers. But there are people out there like that. And they are not gonna be happy.
i tried using options+ when it went public. didn't work for me because i use one of the side buttons on the mx3 as lmb (to kill the real lmb slower than average).

it worked as click only and i can't drag it as a lmb as i was able to under options. no idea if they fixed that or not as it's been over a year. it's not mentioned in the change logs and i'd rather not keep installing and uninstalling options+ and reinstalling options back. seriously, why do a new app with less functionality than the old one?

Do you mean MX Master 3? It is supposed to be supported by Options+. Options+ doesn't claim to support all their keyboards and mice. Use Options if that works better.

Before you retire you old M510 try it with the Unifying Receiver for your new M510. If that works it may mean that you were having problems with the old Unifying Receiver. These can go bad.

it is supported, it just has (or had, if it's been fixed) rubbish button customisation. if anything, i reckon it's not a mouse specific issue but rubbish software issue.

just installed options+ and checked... basically no change. you cannot assign the side buttons as lmb or rmb, though you can set them as middle button. all they have is something called advanced click that you can set as single/double/triple/middle/right click.... i don't want or need a click, i need it to function as a mouse button with dragging and what not. this is still totally useless.

Thanks (y)

Options+ is never going to work for me, as Logitech has made the decision that Options+ won't support their Craft Keyboards.

Options though does work with both my Craft Keyboard and MX Master 3. Yeah, I could use Options+ for the mouse, and options for the keyboard, but Options is giving me all I need, so no need to run both programs.

View attachment 86204
Numerous. It just depends on what app is open as to what features are available. You can even use the Crown to control Spotify - change tracks, volume up/down.

Honestly, the reason I'm not missing Options+ is because Options itself works well with the Craft keyboard. In fact I've more options than I know what to do with. Especially where the Crown is concerned.

Fair enough! (y)
Just seems odd to me that they won't get Options+ to support their flagship keyboard! 🤷‍♂️

Seeing as it was introduced in 2017, I'd posit that the Craft is NOT their flagship at this point.... My money is on the MX Keys currently....

Seeing as how the Craft Keyboard has everything MX Keys has, (with the exception of MX Keys S), plus the Crown Options, as far as I'm concerned, it's still their most expensive flagship in it's class.

Total BS to be exact

That said, the Crown still functions as designed per apps. In fact, I use the Crown in Photoshop often to resize the brush for spot removal. There are other Photoshop functions as well depending on what you're doing. In the end, I'm not sure I'm missing anything other than I can't use Options+ with the keyboard.

I don't think you're missing much, if anything!
I wouldn't sweat it either, Options+ is still buggy as heck, especially the Keys S and 3-S mouse!
