We now know the trade in offers that will be available to those with older V8, v7, and v6 one-time licences, and for recently purchased perpetual v8 licences.

I purchased a one-time license
If you purchased on or after July 1st, 2024, you have three options;
  • Continue using Reflect 8 for as long as you want. You will continue to have access to 12 months technical support from the date you bought the licenses.
  • Trade in (your existing license will be deactivated after your new license is activated) your one-time license (which has one year of support from the date of purchase) and receive a 3-year Annual Plan at no extra cost. Macrium may make loyalty offers available at the end of your 3-year term. However, even without a license, Reflect always allows you to restore/recover your data (you won’t be able to make new backups). We’ve also made your backup files open-source - it’s your data and you own it.
  • NEW: Trade in (your existing license will be deactivated after your new license is activated) your one-time license (which has one year support from the date of purchase) and receive 50% off the normal annual plan price for life (must turn on auto-renew and not allow the license to expire/lapse).
Home users have 6 months from the launch of Reflect X to decide which option suits them best. Step-by-step instructions to obtain either option from the grace period will be published this week.

For Reflect Home users who purchased V8 before July 1, 2024:
You are eligible for two options. The first option is 50% off Annual plans for life. Option 2 is our “Better than Black Friday 2024 Offer:” 3 years for the price of 2:

If you choose 50% off annual plans for life, you will have to trade in your current Reflect Home V8 license.

If you choose 3 years for the price of 2, you can keep your Reflect Home V8 license. This amount must be paid up front and at the end of the plan, customers may renew based on offers available at the time (or return to your one-time license.)

For Home V6 & V7: We are offering 3 years for the price of two. This amount must be paid up front and at the end of the plan, customers may renew based on offers available at the time (or return to your one-time license.)This offer ends March 31st 2025.

I downloaded the X trial today as 8406. It has just updated to 8447. I'll do a backup and restore now and see if it glitches.

8447 is a bug fix for a UI issue found in 8445.

@Bree . Am thinking of buying a Reflect X licence. I'm using 8.1 at the moment. There is a post on the Macrium X Forum "Reflect X Subscription Licence Not Recognised " under Disk Imaging. Do you know if this issue is common or limited to certain pc configurations? Don't really want to start messing around with workarounds and would rather wait until the issue is patched in a Macrium update. Am assuming the resolution isn't included in the latest patch? Thanks.

Apparently, under version X and the new subscription, the Macrium code for identifying where the license belongs has some issues. For people with multiple ACTIVE network paths (LAN & wireless) and, apparently, certain System configurations, the license keeps getting lost forcing the user to reregister the license on that machine. Not a big problem but a bit of a pain. Enough users are experiencing this issue that Macrium should be looking for a solution... but in the meantime, a workaround is available.

It appears to be a relatively rare problem. Part of the licensing seems to involve the MAC address of one of your network adapters, and depending on which one it used it may cause issues. This thread discusses it, including a fairly simple workaround. In post #4 I tried (and failed) to provoke my Reflect X licence to have this issue. In post #7 I point out that this is nothing new, Reflect v8 had it too.

Macrium reflect X repeatedly offering to transfer license key

I'm running Reflect X on my primary desktop. Roughly about 8 times over the past week it's complained about my license and I have had to select the option to transfer the license to my PC, although that license has never been used on a different computer. At first I thought that the issue might...

    unsupported machine: Legacy bios, MBR, TPM 1.2, upgraded from W10 to W11 using W10/W11 hybrid install media workaround. In-place upgrade to 22H2 using ISO and a workaround. Feature Update to 23H2 by manually installing the Enablement Package. In-place upgrade to 24H2 using hybrid 23H2/24H2 install media. Also running Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 8GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus the Insider Beta, Dev, Canary, and Release Preview builds as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine.
Thanks for the info. Macrium I believe are aware of the problem and hopefully will address it in a future update/patch. I had a look at the workaround on the Macrium forum and decided to hold fire on buying X until it's sorted. Thanks again

Still no mention of fixes for MBR disks restore failure so yeah, no. Combined with the money-grubbing-rent-an-app subscription thing, I think it's time to abandon Macrium all together and just switch to Hasleo Free.
