Bug fixes and improvements to GeForce 566.14 driver

The GeForce 56.14 driver, in addition to setting the stage for the new window games, also solves a number of recently identified problems. Among the main bugs fixed are:

DSR/DLDSR in custom resolutions: In some games, these resolution options did not appear correctly. The failure has been eliminated for those who like to adjust the graphic quality to the maximum.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III: A problem related to changing file names prevented the use of NVIDIA Freestyle filters. With the new update, this barrier has been removed, allowing players to take advantage of visual customizations without setbacks.
Bluestacks and Corsair iCUE: Users reported abnormal CPU consumption when using these applications in conjunction with NVIDIA GPUs. The bug was fixed, improving overall performance.
Shader Cache: Even when the cache deactivation option was enabled, some files continued to be created. The unexpected behavior has been adjusted to function as configured.

Specific improvements to new titles

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Support for DLSS 3 brings a new layer of fluidity and graphic quality to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, allowing players to face the challenges of the post-apocalyptic universe with higher frame rates and higher realism.

Anyone having taskbar issues since this update? I am rolling back one update because of it.

Some programs are completely filling the screen, but going all the way to the bottom of the screen now and the taskbar lays over the bottom part, obscuring it. Very hard to use Visual Studio this way. I have fiddled with all of the taskbar settings I can find with no success. The only thing I can set is to hide the taskbar completely. I guess this update wasn't ready for prime time. At least not for me.

@Catnip - Thanks for posting right before I install it on my notebook even though it's the secondary GPU as the primary is the Intel UHD. You might want to post here:

Is the issue you mentioned the same as the Transparency effect issue?

no issues with my main setup as of yet...
had a Window updates today... so thats all good..
EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB gfx card.

Just installing it on 2nd Windows Installation I am currently performing "Automatic Tuning" and some features that are useful are the Driver Update, Super Resolution and HDR (High Dynamic Range) . The Notification Icon now Has 2 options also.

Grrrr. I reverted to 566.03 and it took me hours of diddling around to get my screen back to normal. At least now my taskbar isn't hiding the bottom of the screen, though a couple of apps seem to now prefer to run in full screen mode and I then lose the taskbar completely. I guess it's better than having it stomp all over the menus at the bottom of the screen. I have no idea how to get those apps back in windowed mode, but at least I have a second screen where the taskbar shows if I need to get at it.

This is an update that I should not have performed.

UPDATE:

I just got it working. I forced the apps into Maximized Window mode and it works again. I am still not upgrading.

It's installed now and downloaded my driver ok. All seems ok after the reboot so as long as it installs the drivers properly that's all I need I guess.

I only use it for driver updates. It beats how I used to do it years ago before GeForce Experience. I'd manually download the driver and manually update my computers. NVIDIA App doesn't appear to be too much different.

I only have NVIDIA App set for drivers. I'm not a gamer.

I like the old way they did it, where the GeForce Experience icon would show there is a update, it could be a driver or GeForce Experience update but that function seems to be gone 5+ years probably.

I've had this problem happen a a good bit since I first started Windows 11, so 3+ years now.

I just log out of my account and log back in - works every time. Once one app breaks they all do, and seem to ignore the fact that my taskbar is even there, even though I can still interact with the taskbar itself. Since I also use TranslucentTB, I can actually see the hidden part of any app that extends beyond the taskbar, but cannot interact with it.

Interestingly, though, it has not happened to me for the last several months, so I'm hoping that was a one-off on your machine, and not something directly related to this driver.

I'll test and let ya know.

Next time this happens try going to Taskbar, Taskbar behaviours and select and un-select Automatically hide the taskbar. Used to fix it for me but not seen the issue in a while.

GeForce Experience still showed driver updates for me.
I've now upgraded to NVIDIA App. I'll have to wait and see whether driver update notifications still work for it.

I have been using NVIDIA App since the original Beta was announced so I don't remember 100% of what GeForce Experience shows in notifications but both GE and NVIDIA App shows Driver Updates, GE just didn't show when a GeForce Experience update is available like the older versions did when looking at the icon.

Tried that multiple times, especially early on when it was happening more frequently. Did not ever help me.

Logging out / rebooting the machine does. Logging out is just easier lol.
