The problem installing NVIDIA drivers is only with latest Canary builds.
The same drivers install just fine on any other 23H2 or 24H2 Builds. MS changes in Canary Builds are causing the different behavior.
The problem started with Canary 27783 and still the same issues with 27788. 😝🤬
When I reported it to NVIDIA support, they replied that they don't do any testing with Windows insider Builds. They only test with RTM public builds.
I think MS should test these in Canary and get a fix for the problem they created.
MS has also a similar issue with black screen when they disconnect from RDC, and that is also only with Canary. 😵‍💫🤷‍♂️

Which method are you using to install which was the same question I asked earlier as that could make a difference. I never use the apps because I prefer to keep the driver installer in case I need it in the future. I will probably keep the last 3-4 years worth. As for Nvidia and Microsoft, I don't care what their support says since I will be writing to Jensen Huang and Satya Nadella so it will end up at the top of the chain in 1 minute flat if it's a problem that the lower level are showing incompetence.

I just run one of these downloaded directly from NVIDIA support site.

The second one is the latest downloaded on Feb 27, 2025.
I think the problem with the latest one is even worse than the previous from Feb 20, 2025.
Again, the installation problem is only with Canary builds.
Both drivers install fine on all the 23H2 or 24H2 builds, insider or public. 😉🤷‍♂️

I saw other users reporting the problem with recent Canary builds and installing NVIDIA drivers, but most users don't even bother trying to update the driver if they have one installed that works.
So, we don't even know how many would see the problem if they tried. I have different machines, and all fail the same way.
My guess is that many other Canary users may have the same issue with installing NVIDIA drivers, if they only tried. 🤣🤷‍♂️
So much for insider testing! 😝🤬

@fg2001gf11F - Yeah, if they have more people actually trying to use NVIDIA drivers, it would be a more complete report of what's not working compared to only a small amount of people reporting, both MSFT/NVDA will think it's not even an issue.

I think Microsoft needs test and fix this. They have the same symptom when using RDC, and that has nothing to do with NVIDIA. 🤬🤷‍♂️

Maybe it's something specific in the code causing it but until they acknowledge there is the problem, nothing further will be done.

I'll give it a try; Currently I have 572.60 and has no issues with my Display port screen. 🤷‍♂️

Here is the Hotfix installed on Canary Build 27802.1000. March 01, 2025.
Looks fine, but I will revert to 572.60 which was working fine with this same configuration and screen connected to Display port.

Because I did not have the specific problem addressed by the Hotfix.
So, I don't need it.
I rather stay with the official release and wait for the Hotfix to be added on next update. 🤞

Yes, they do seem to be having a lot of updates lately.

And, this is driver update number 4 (or is it 5?) where the NVIDIA tray icon won't stay disabled as I posted about several driver versions back.

I also posted about this on the NVIDIA forums at the time but so far there's no fix. Perhaps it's now a "feature" and not a "bug"?

But, not to worry... a big thank you to @Brink for providing this tutorial in the Windows 10 Forums. I use the Registry file, I have to re-apply it after every driver update but so far it works perfectly (I can't find it here in the Windows 11 Forums unless I've been looking in the wrong place).
