Anybody else have a failure with this one? The studio version installed with no problems on 3 PCs, but the game-ready version turned up as not compatible with the GTX-750 Ti in my 11 Insider Release Preview PC. The previous driver installed and worked with no problems. The GTX-750 Ti is on the Nvidia compatibility list for this driver.

I have a EVGA/Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB graphics card..
so no issues with the latest driver for me.
I had a GTX 750 Ti a long time ago.

Others don't hold a candle to NVIDIA, AMD/ATI as I remember when I started with computers. There was Hercules, Tseng Labs and later Matrox among others. Matrox still exists but NVIDIA and AMD formerly ATI are basically the only ones remaining for the last 25 -+ a few years and no other company was able to beat them. NVIDIA was better at speeds while AMD/ATI is better in the image quality. Ofcourse there is Intel but that's integrated into the CPU and not a dedicated GPU. The issue is once you become big, the government will try to shut you down one way or another.

Are you aware that Intel is selling discrete graphics cards? Product series is "Arc". Since 2022. (According to Wikipedia. Can't rely on my own memory.)

They haven't gotten a lot of market share so far, but I've read reviews that the cards are competitive in the low and mid-range markets.

I have fond memories of 3dfx. They initially sold only 3d accelerator cards ("Voodoo"), which worked in conjunction with separate VGA graphics cards (passthrough). After they went Chapter 7, some assets were purchased by nVidia. (Like "SLI", although nVidiia's version wasn't "scan line interleaving".)

I doubt that nVidia has much to worry about as regards antitrust action for the graphics card business. The GPUs that they make for AI are a different story.

I wonder how many users have PCs that old, but with nVidia GPUs that are compatible with the latest drivers? (people surprise me all the time, I admit. Especially people from the Old World.)

They probably do but I haven't seen them although I haven't kept up with different options for the past 15 years... Until you told me, I kept thinking Arc was something that was included in later generations of Intel processors.

Yes, 3dfx was the other one I forgot to mention and then there was Diamond who just like Adaptec were proprietary so third parties can't easily write drivers for their products even though Diamond Multimedia basically used graphic chips from others. nVidia and ATI (Canadian) were the ones who started with GPUs that had speeds that were faster than the CPUs from what I remembered. Lots of things that were good either survived or didn't. Similar to Advanced Gravis which was a Canadian company had the Gravis Ultrasound cards that were the first to offer wavetable synthesis and also on-board memory at affordable prices that was CD quality sound that was superior to Adlib and SoundBlaster at that time. The GUS also was able to emulate the Roland MT-32. I took over the GUS e-mail based mailing lists in 1994 and ran it until the 1999 or so.
nVidia shouldn't have a problem since it's the competitions fault if they can't make anything in the same league. Besides that, nVidia does not make graphics cards as the reference design is usually made by MSi or one of the taiwan brands and then everyone else basically copies it and makes modifications so it's only one component of a graphics card.
