Hi gents, some new info from me And apologies for a pigs ear of an "explanation".before due to a **** memory and a bit of misdirection.
It was an update from MS, a site on it online: "
The version of AMD software that you launched ????) Who Did??
is not compatible with your currently installed AMD Graphics Driver. For information on how to resolved this go to: www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-300.
To help resolve this issue, please run the
AMD Software Compatibility Tool. This utility should automatically find and install a compatible version of AMD Software for the currently installed AMD graphics driver.
By running the AMD Software Compatibility Tool, you are confirming that you have read and agree to be bound by the
End User License Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you do not have a license or permission to use and/or download the software.
Please note that AMD graphics drivers provided in advance to users participating in the Windows Insider Program may not have a compatible version of AMD Software available. Therefore, these systems may not have useful AMD Software until a matching version is available.
I ran the AMD Compat tool - it said I do not have any AMD software installed????? So what did MS install? I am going to contact AMD and find out (hopefully)
It would appear that a lot of you had this problem in 21/22. Because its happened to me (in 2024) tells me this is an old problem
that I had never had before - or - I was running an AMD card at the time.
