You cannot run on a cpu without sse4-2 - end of story

Other ways to install it on a non compatible cpu with sse4-2 have been explained many times on this thread and forum.

Use Rufus seems to be most popular solution.

You're wrong. Apple silicon computers aren't locked down. You can install and boot any unsigned binary of any OS you want, the problem however is that the new hardware is not openly documented, so it will take a while before we get anything usable beyond MacOS.

Asahi Linux already works on M1/M2/M3, but it's still in its very early days.

Developers have been mapping out which Windows files have the POPCNT instructions, and there are too many boot-critical files to bypass. If you were to replace POPCNT, the files would fail secure signing and Windows will stop running.

It is not the end of the World! As many have old computers still running Windows XP and Windows 7, I will keep using Windows 11 23H2 on my test laptop for as long as I can. It will take at least 5 years to get to the XP stage where almost no application works. Until then I probably will have replaced it with a new or a more technologically advanced refurbished model.

This is the easiest way I have found and it works on unsupported hardware . Have it on a 2014 era laptop with no TPM and unsupported CPU . Just follow this guys instructions which is basically download Win 11 ISO , mount the ISO and see what drive the system mounted it on , go into your command prompt as admin then change into the mounted drive like mine was "F" . Change into the "sources" folder and type the following setupprep.exe / product server then hit enter and it will start to install windows with no verification and it ran thru the whole process with no errors in about an hour and a quarter . It loaded , rebooted and everything came up fine . The windows license activated with no issues either . I was shocked that it loaded up with no issues . It even boots faster than Win 10 did . Check it out . I just loaded this up over Windows 10 today 9/13/2024 .

- You can use either X:\setup.exe /product server or X:\sources\setupprep.exe /product server.

Both commands also work with Windows 11 24H2 Insider Release Preview 26100.1742, at least if you download from UUP dump.

Good to know. I prefer to download the ISO from Microsoft, disconnect from the internet, mount it (Open with File Explorer), run Setup, replace hidden file appraiserres.dll in Setup cache with an empty dummy to bypass compatibility check and proceed with the upgrade.

i havent any issue in clean install its work correctly , just when i want to upgrade inside the windows from 27686 to 27695, all passing command and all bypass way for upgrade not work .... not dll file not replace file not rufus and ventory passway not cmd command not windows upgrade , and i got unsupported message in all ways.... its new, not before 27686.

Are you trying to upgrade by a manual in-place upgrade from an ISO or USB?

I have had no issues on my System Two below installing the Feature Update from 27686 to 27695 through Windows Update. I use two scripts to achieve that, OfflineInsiderEnrol and Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update.

To upgrade an unsupported computer always download the respective ISO. Then disconnect from the internet, mount the ISO, run Setup, replace the hidden file C:\$Windows.~BT/sources/appraiserres.dll from Setup's cache and THEN proceed. Rufus might not detect an Insider's ISO properly and patch it because it is too new to know about it. Replacing the hidden file should work. DON'T connect to the internet until the upgrade is complete.

That still works in 23H2, but it no longer works for any 24H2 build, be it Canary, Dev, or (thought to be the RTM 24H2) Release Preview.

Use dism /Apply-Image -- no need to change anything --that still works. And for LOCAL account (for Win PRO and above) at "Is this for home / school work -- choose Schoo; / work and select at sign in options "Join Domain".

Problem solved !!!

OK not a solution though for Windows 11 HOME.

That's OK for a clean install. It's no good for an in-place upgrade, keeping all files and apps, which was what spapakons and I were talking about in posts #2,017/#2,018.

Isn't The Dism apply for a clean installation? For that i use my hybrid Windows 10/11 USB flash drive which works every time. I will test it with the general 24H2 release and confirm it. We need a workaround to UPGRADE our existing Windows 11 system to 24H2. I would like to avoid doing a clean installation. I will check if the appraiserres.dll replacement works in the general release. I will also check the setup.exe /product server and the Rufus method. One of them should work, unless we discover a new workaround. What if we try to run Setup from a hybrid 23H2/24H2 USB flash drive? Haven't checked that yet.
