I can tell what was next for me and why I removed Windows from any hard or solid-state drive. After it was installed on a new system I applied an update and it destroyed one of my Linux installations - in this case Garuda. So naturally I reinstalled Garuda over Windows and will not go back. Windows belongs in a box, and that's where it will remain.
OK so, I forgot that StartAllBack does indeed support toolbars on the taskbar. But you still haven't answered why you think that "the taskbar modification of StartAllBack is much more polished than ExplorerPatcher".
No, but the smaller icons size in addition to the narrower icons spacing is much less distracting to me especially on a big 4k screen with the Scale at 150%. It just gives me a clearer overview of my opened apps at a glance each time when I look at it, and it also causes the taskbar height to become noticeably less tall. Similar to why there was no good reason for Microsoft to decide to reduce the thickness of scrollbars in such a way that grabbing them and clicking on them with the mouse had become a royal PITA, there also was no good reason to increase the minimum taskbar height. This same logic also applies to, e.g., the navigation pane of File Explorer, as I still have to rely on the Classic Explorer component of Open-Shell to be able to reduce the vertical spacing between items in the navigation tree. If I want bigger sizes, I'll buy an IMAX laser projector from Barco. These big projectors were invented in my country anyway.
Unlike me, Superman has the ability to fly over the ginormous taskbar icons to get a complete overview at just the blink of an eye.
Ventoy can be used to boot straight into Linux based ISO files to, e.g., avoid the need to run a VM under some specific circumstances when feasible. In addition, chainloading with iPXE also still works.
I don't want to knock on Linux, but IME it's just not sustainable, or not worth all the hassle for what I do. Outside of corporate Linux, the compatibility totally sucks, and, various important stuff constantly breaks after installing an update excepting only if you use it for very little more than everyday basic, or "normal" tasks that can be done equally fine, or that can often be done more conveniently, on Windows. Windows is nowhere near perfect I mean, but at least I can live with, even though I have no other choice.
I already turned that on (many years ago actually). But this still doesn't solve the problem, that the scrollbars are much too thin. Luckily however, there exists a registry tweak for this specific purpose. To me, personally, this makes the problem entirely go away. Even so, the simple fact that the user has to delve into the registry to fix it is still proving my point, that whoever came up with the idea of making them so thin must have had a serious obsession with Sierra adventure games. Ivo Beltchev, the author of ClassicShell (now called Open-Shell) also made this same remark. That was almost 15 years ago.
My point was that Microsoft has the insatiable habit to create freight trains filled with problems in areas where no problems exist. I already know that most of the UI issues can easily be fixed, as I have already been tweaking and fixing all sorts of problems a lot of which were/are caused by Microsoft, over the past 39 years actually. I am a trained IT pro and an Enterprise Java software developer with a formal degree in IT. So I'm not too worried. But that doesn't also mean that I consider myself an expert. Just experienced enough to know that not everyone is so totally in love with how Microsoft continues to frequently break stuff, and continues to frequently break it for no apparent reason whatsoever. In a lot of cases, all they basically had to do was just stop removing useful features, and stop fixing those features that never were broken, so that we don't have to spend more of our time searching for ways to un-fix them.
I use MX-Linux 23.3 AHS on a NUC. I Just use it to play around with. It runs perfectly fine.
If there were Touch Pads the entire width of the Laptop, so I would be able to get my cursor from one side of an ultrawide to the other in one swipe, I'd be okay with it..., the lift/swipe, lift/swipe, lift/swipe with the finger drives me nuts!
Have you noticed when using a touchpad that the speed of your finger movement greatly accelerates the cursor movement? If you move quickly, you can easily move from one side of your screen to the other in one movement. Two finger scrolling works fine.
Wonder if there's a setting where you could fling the cursor from one side to the other!

I'm very mobile in my computer use and I don't like hauling a mouse with me, so when I decided to learn to use only my touchpad, I too was clumsy with it. After years of using a quality touchpad, I much prefer it to a mouse.Well, I'll be danged!!! You're right!!!
