New build, random/inconsistent BSODs

I just built my son's computer literally yesterday. The specs are what are listed in my "specs." Windows 11 home version 24H2.

Ryzen 5 5600X
ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Plus WI-FI II
MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 980
G.Skill 2x16 32 gigs ram, DDR4 3600, 18-22-22-22-42
Hyper 212 Black
WD 2TB NVME drive
Corsair RM650 PSU

The computer has had several, seemingly random BSODs since I got it up and running. I wish I could say it's when I'm doing XYZ, and it always happens if I do blah blah blah, but I honestly have no idea. It's pretty random. I've updated the motherboard BIOS and reset all the settings in the BIOS, minus applying the DOCP profile for the ram and changing the fan profiles to turbo speed. I've changed the windows power profile to High Performance. I've installed the chipset drivers from the ASUS website. The graphics driver is up to date.

The BSODs seemed to happen a lot less last night after I updated the motherboard bios and reset the bios settings. The most recent BSOD happened this morning when all I had open was Steam, I had started about 6 or 7 games to download and then it BSOD'd and restarted. I hasn't happened since. I'm hoping someone can analyze this file and point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

Hello Zbook,

I've been reading through a ton of the threads with the process order and steps while prepping to make my first BSOD post and I have a quick question about your Step 5. For HD Tune, on the website, there's the old version you mention that's version 2.55 but doesn't say that it's compatible with anything over Win7. Is this the version you're wanting people to use or will a trial version of the Pro version (5.75 or 6.10) provide the full error scan until the trial runs out? I just want to confirm so I can hit as many of the prerequisites as possible before posting. Thank you.

And apologies, not trying to threadjack, but it's been 7 days with no response to your above request so I don't feel like I'm interrupting too much.

Hi, welcome.

My guess is that you would be better off creating a new thread. You could start off with your question and move on from there.

The latest trial runs an incomplete drive scan.

The version 2.55 tests the whole drive.

The versions 5.75 and 6.1 may complete (these can run overnight while sleeping).

Ok, Step 1 was pretty confusing. I got the "tuneup" file, not sure what else you wanted. I completed the other steps 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Attaching the pics/docs and going to run step 8.

Sorry this took so long. Life happens and the computer started running just fine for a while. I'm finally back in town from work and can start troubleshooting this machine. My son powered on the computer this morning and it prompted him that his user password expired. I looked up how to fix that and while I was trying to implement that change, it must've BSODd like 10 times. Since then, I have run all the steps 1-7 and it hasn't rebooted yet.

Not sure if i got all the info you wanted. Some of these instructions are vague or confusing. Dumb it down for me, I'm an Army vet/Aircraft Mechanic, not a programmer, lol.

I'm not sure what you mean by "post a share link" but here's the txt files from the DISM scan and the Tuneup plus again.
*edit* I think I get what you mean. The DISM file is too large to include. let me know if this link doesn't work: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VzvOwdeK_jojWO7dRMlouMvaqIqrvoBu/view?usp=drive_link

I'm also not sure what you mean by "post a new V2 share link"? can you explain that please?
I will wait 2 weeks and run the check disk function again.
Thank you!

Ok, got it. I'm learning all the terminology here and how to use it, lol

Also, the machine has had a lot of BSODs today, namely when my son tried to launch Fortnite. Not sure if that means anything to this process. I updated the Nvidia graphics driver to the latest version with a clean install and removed/reinstalled fortnite, still won't load. I just tried installing the iCue software from Corsair because I never did that for controlling the lighting on his keyboard. The computer BSODd as it was trying to download the install files for iCue and hung on the Blue Screen so long that I had to press the reset button. This literally just happened so It may not be captured in the V2 file.

each time it BSODs, it says the stopcode is CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED

Here is the link for the DISM file. (should work now)
Tuneup and V2 logs attached.
ISO is downloaded.
Do you still want the check disk in 2 weeks?

Memtest86+ | The Open-Source Memory Testing Tool

Just 1 error is a test fail and testing can be aborted.

The more the passes the better the testing conditions.

It sometimes takes passes into the 20's to detect malfunctioning RAM.

The RAM can be tested all at one time or one at a time in the same DIMM.

So for whatever reason, this morning, I can't even get the machine to startup safely to the desktop. It gets to the desktop for all of about 5 seconds and BSODs every time. It'll boot into safemode eventually and I've tried every restore or repair option in that menu. It will not boot stably to the desktop. I'm sorry, but at this point I'm reinstalling the OS on that machine. Hopefully it will work.

The findings are typical of malfunctioning hardware.

The Memtest86+ and Sea Tools Long generic testing can be performed by boot.

Ok, yea I'm getting all the basic programs, graphics drivers, chipset drivers, and system changes installed and implemented. It's still already BSODd twice during the login screen (i enable auto login because it's on my kids computer) but then restarts and logs in fine.

I'm going to run those two tests before installing anything more.

So, good news, Memtest86+ found a couple errors. I have swapped to a different kit of RAM I got from a local store. The system seems way more stable overall. I've been on the desktop and I'm currently running the hard drive tests you asked for (Seatools, HD tune, HD sentinel).

I ran a quick test on the SSD using the Western Digital software, and it came back ok.
The Western Digital software also updated the firmware for the SSD.

The machine has not blue screened once today so far. *fingers crossed* I'll report when the drive tests are done.

Ok, so all drive scans seem to be healthy. The Samsung Magician wasn't able to do much because it said "drive is not supported."

The machine has not rebooted or BSODd at all today. I'm going to install a game or 2 for my son and let him try to play and see if it actually works this time.

Pics are attached.
Thank you for all the help and support zbook!
