Oh, yeah. I use Custom clean with very few selections from the two menus and a few custom files and folders, Registry cleaner with only four things ticked, and the results often not acted on, and Tools > System Restore to check on my Task Scheduler "Create a Daily Restore Point" task's results and delete any Restore Points in excess of three. I wouldn't restore that way more than two days ago; I'd restore an image made by MR.

Yeah I have a few extra options ticked, mainly because I’m actually now a pretty lazy guy, seriously, in my older age I just “don’t want to”

So I click on clean and pray it’s all good.

We improved the handling of uninstall parameters in the Uninstaller feature.
We implemented a fix to component permissions to prevent potential misuse.

@Almighty1 That's really interesting. I'd never even heard of it. I want to try it, but I'm involved in looong negotiations with Piriform about CCleaner, and if I add anything to CC, the support people will find out and kill my cases. When all this is resolved, I'll give it a good try. Thanks.

After a couple of days, Piriform/Avast pulled 6.18.10824 from the downloads available. Seems it was buggy in several ways. I had a copy installed on one machine, and had saved the download to another machine. When I installed that download, that copy of CC wouldn't even run. The other one was running, but it was confused about licenses, and didn't read its own CCleaner.lic files as present and valid. I went back to 6.17.10746, and it continues to run perfectly well. Now running the 6.17 on both machines, and don't need any updates anytime soon.

Well my version is 6.18.10824 (64-bit) and its been running prefect since I updated it. Mine is the Pro version ...
I have it installed on both my pc's also.

So was mine (version and running perfectly), but after they dumped it, I backed down to 6.17, just to avoid any coughs. 6.17 is what you'll find now on the CC Builds depository. Four choices there; all 6.17 today.

Well so far I am having no issues, and running this version on both my rigs.
This computer tho is a custom made pc, and very much overclocked. That might be why I'm having no issues.
I did not d/l my ccleaner , it updated itself to this version.

Now I'm really glad I always use the portable version because each time a new version comes out or a version has been pulled such as 6.18 I can just simply replace the Ccleaner folder in "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\CCleaner" although I also have to replace the "ccleaner - settings configuration settings" file with one I have saved with my preferred set options but it is a lot easier than uninstalling/reinstalling Ccleaner.

Yeah, I only run the portables, too. All you have to save is the Ccleaner.ini file. Delete the rest, install the new, copy Ccleaner.ini back to the right spot, and you’re laughing. Unless, ofc, the update has problems. Then you delete the new, saving that .ini, copy back the previous version from your latest image (which ofc you have), and run. Couple of minutes, tops.

btw; these "rules " are very good for all software ........ :wink:

Can safe you lots of precious time also , coz you dont have to repair much !

What exactly do you mean "very good for all software"? (I thought this was just an add-on for CCleaner.) :think:
