My daughter needs a new mic. But I think I am gonna give my Yeti to her and have this one for myself. Haha. I know it is a downgrade for me but this looks nicer with my setup. Anker is not a bad name. The reviews look fine to me.

Well, the worst I can do is order another one and return it without opening under my first order. UPS is just 500m away from me.

You can always buy a more solid tabletop tripod such as this... Benro PocketPod Tabletop Tripod ($22 bucks).

I have this Leofoto LS-223C ($90), which is also adjustable. It's certainly good enough for a 5lb camera/lens setup :)

I actually have one of those compact tripods.

But they somehow look occupying my desk space too much. There are a lot of good options at the price range I am looking for my daughter's mic. But one feature I am looking for is the basic stable base. I don't even like the look of the shock mounts but I know how important they are for desk noises. My other option is the very simple HyperX Solocast which is also on sale but lacks volume knobs.

Looks very different in a good way. And I am surprised the built-in pop filter is very good. I recited the "Peter Piper" tongue twister over and over and it is excellent!
Love the very subtle RGB touch. It adds character to my setup.

Well I don't own a mic, other the one that's on my Logitech HD camera.

BTW what Nikon camera body is that? The one in my photo is a D850 with a Nikon 70-200 F2.8E. That's pretty much my go to kit :)

Mine's okay if it's not in the way or, you don't have to fiddle with it!

That would be my trusty entry level D7000 with the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 as my main kit lens. I guess you shoot mostly outdoors because 70mm is totally useless indoors. You have to be at least 10mtrs away to get a good shot of your desk setup. :) My 17-50 is mounted 100% of the time unless I am shooting outdoors where I use my Tamron 18-270 f3.5 which is also 100% usable indoors so I don't really have to switch lenses under a good indoor lighting condition where the f2.8 will make a lot of difference. I got rid of my speedlight flash (SB-600) because I barely use it since I bought it.

I tried to switch mirrorless to a Fuji X-T200 that I purchased during the pandemic but I feel like the bulky DSLRs are still much easier to use for manual photography. Mirrorless are just good as backup cameras.

And speaking of webcam, I just purchased a DC coupler dummy battery for my X-T200 to make use of it as a 1080p webcam since I am not using it a lot. I had to use a dummy battery because the X-T200 does not charge while in use as a webcam. The rechargeable battery is not gonna work for long time use. It will be like a pro level 1080p webcam... hahaha...
I will update how it went.

Having worked in photography for 30 years I MO the Nikon D range takes some beating but I always use Genuine Nikon lenses as well

Not any more, retired but I worked more in the darkroom in the film days and digital labs afterwards, dis =d a lot of wedding photography for a while

What I also like about this Anker mic is the ball joint at the base. You can flip it around in any angle and direction and still keeps standing.

You will be surprised how good these 3rd party lenses are these days. Cost efficient for hobbyists like me.
The only genuine lens I keep but also barely use is the 50mm f1.8 prime lens.

I actually have a wide range of Nikon lens and some Sigma prime lenses, so I mount according to what I'm shooting. I shoot both outdoors and indoors, since I also shoot my builds. Both these were shot with my Nikon D850, but the top image was shot with the Sigma 35mm F1.4 lens, and the bottom with my Sigma 50mm F2.8 lens.

But yeah, I keep my Nikon 70-200 mounted on the D850 as a default lens, and since I also carry my Nikon D800E with me, it's usually mounted with either my Nikon 17-35 F2.8 lens, or my Sigma 35mm

I've been shooting off and on since 1979 and started with Canon but am now with Nikon (no issues with Canon).

Near all my lenses are Nikon to include some still working "D" lenses with my favs being the Nikon AF-S 17-35mm F2.8D, and my lovely AF-D 85mm F1.4D lens. Also, the built like a tank AF-D 80-200mm F2.8, which is now replaced by my AF-S 70-200mm F2.8E VR lens shown above.

I also have a couple of Sigma primes - Sigma 35 Art (F1.4), and the 50mm 1.4 EX DG HSM. Also, a manual focus Rokina 14mm F2.8.
