My wife is now permanently working from home and keeps complaining of back pains from her office issued chair. So I got her a SecretLab Titan Evo 2022 Series chair (in cookies n cream color :rolleyes:) with adjustable lumbar support (I'm jealous because mine only came with lumbar pillow :cry:).
Next to find is a standing desk and to relocate her home office desk.

Ordered one of these on Prime day. The price seems to be the same as on Western Digital's site (although that probably has postage & packing added), but I got £5 off as a 'personal discount'. I installed it yesterday, and benchmarks show a doubling of disk speed in Performance Test. (Because it is PCIe 4, compared with my previous PCIe 3 Samsung Evo NVMe.) It only seems to run 3 deg C hotter too, although I haven't really pushed it yet.

Just a comment on the word "Gaming" in the name as that's nothing but pure false hype since we know today's games perform no better on SSD/NVMe drives outside of faster load times (in game frame rates remain pretty much the same).

Not saying the product in question doesn't perform, I'm saying they're using a buzz word to push more sales.

Yeah, "Gaming" moniker is a gimmick.even joysticks and joypads can be and are use for other things. Any PC can also be used for games.

I am a gamer but find the "gaming" moniker full of hype (read BS) at times.

Anyway, I'll be in the market in the near future for a new monitor, and one thing I know for sure... it won't have name "gaming" anywhere near its title. In fact, it'll be an excluding factor. That said, I'm also a photographer, so the monitor will be dedicated to that. Just as the monitor I have now.

It didn't take long to find that the Firestick wasn't as good as I thought. Everything I tried did work great except for trying to stream from my Mini-PC to my TV. Depending on what app I used I had trouble getting the correct aspect ratio. VLC worked the best. Then I noticed that the videos started freezing. I don't know if it was a buffering problem or not. I didn't get any buffering messages. Yesterday I decided to order the Fire TV Cube. It arrived around 7:00 last night. I watched several hour-long videos last night and my wife watched a few videos today and so far, no freezing. I'm going to ask a few family members if they want the Firestick. If not, I'm sending it back.

I don't have a single game on my desktop PC - I use it for video editing primarily. When I looked on the WD site, they seemed to have a few variants labelled 'gaming' 'Playstation' etc. As you say hype - just to point gamers who may be less interested in the ins and outs of the hardware in the right direction I suppose. However, there is no denying that games played a massive role in the development of the personal computer - colour screens and sound cards and the ever increasing need for speed. We all benefit from that.

As I said, I'm a gamer. Been playing PC games since I built my first PC in 1998. Still build (last build in 2019) still playing PC games. I'm well aware the effect the PC enthusiast and gaming communities had (still have) on hardware/software manufacturers ;-)

That said, I wasn't knocking what you bought, I was merely pointing out that "Gaming" is more an advertising buzz word than actual "game changer".

I don't think the word "gaming" is meant to describe anything other than specifying the "target user" (business, server, gaming, etc.) and application of the hardware. When you buy something, it is always good to know what you can use it for. Like a chair for example. You don't want to buy a dining chair if you want to use it for playing video games. Well, you can use a dining chair for gaming, but you won't get a good gaming experience out of it.
