My Outlook is part of Office 2019 suit. All of a sudden, I am unable to move posts to another folder in Outlook. Also, can't seem to be able to erase posts as I go along. Or the erasure happens a couple of minutes later. So, was wondering if there is a way to do a repair on Outlook of Office as a whole. My copy is a digital version direct from M.S.
Could go the erase the whole app route and replace but I would rather net.

Have you tried the Repair option?

Settings/Apps/Installed Apps/Microsoft Office XXXX
Click on ...
Modify and use the Repair Options. (online/quick)
See if that helps.

Ok; solved it; I ran the install exe file thinking that after the download I might get a repair option. Nope. MS just re-installed Office completely and fixed the issue whatever it was. I will look at that setting suggestion for future reference.

Thanks much.

So, I went into system apps installed apps Office 2019 full repair and Microsoft dumped out my Office and installed 360 which they are saying I have to pay for. I already paid for Office. I am not made of money. So, I guess I will have to do a complete removal of 360 and re install Office and then re-do all my settings and preferences. What a crock......Outlook not even working.

Update Office 2019 won't reinstall, comes up as a partially functioning 360 where I can only read previous documents. Microsoft is forcing me to buy 360 even though I own Office 2019. And something about Defender not working unless 360 installed. Defender will cost more money. I feel like I am being scammed here.
What the hell is Microsoft pulling here

Yes, I have removed it that way ( just did it again) and via settings/ apps/installed apps. I will next check through win 11 for any residue of office before using my original install package of office 2019 again. Last time it just came up with 360 installed.

Ok; no sign of any office apps anywhere I thought to look. Will do the re-install in a while. Taking the wife out for a shop.

You just need to log into the MS Account associated with Office 2019 and download/install it from the Services/subscriptions tab. Once a product key is entered, it is permanently associated with the Microsoft Account used to enter the product key.

Sign in to your account

If you run into an activation error, then you'll need to follow the instructions in the following article under the section

<Activate after reinstalling or moving Office>

Activate Office using the Activation wizard

Sorry for delay; we have been having other issues at home here.
Re installed office 2019 for the 2nd time last night and this time it went in just fine without 360. Big sigh. Everything works, but the original problem is still there.
If I am going through my mail and deleting as I go, the posts won't delete or take a couple of minutes. Same if I want to drag and drop a post into a different folder. Very odd. So to do these tasks I have to go directly into GMAIL and work with them in there. Or I can do it withing Windows Mail (just don't like it).

So thanks to everyone for helping. I will mark it as finished and solved!! I will look around for answers with Outlook.

This is a continuation from a previous post of mine last month. At that time I totally removed office 2019 in an attempt to solve this issue. Then re-installed after re boot.

I have three accounts, but this only happens in my primary account. Can't delete, move, copy or anything else while in my primary account inbox. In I go into any other folder like sent and trash etc , no problem. Will look to see if there are any rules for the inbox that I don't know of. This is the image I get each time I manipulate anything in the inbox. Any ideas for me to try would be appreciated. Scratching my aging head.

Did you re-use your original Outlook pst/ost files?
If so then perhaps they are faulty.
You have a pst-ost repair utility already installed with Office. It is called ScanPST.
Repair Outlook Data Files (.pst and .ost) [all versions] - OfficeSupport
Use it to check & repair your pst-ost files. I have only ever seen this utility fail to repair a pst file once [and I had to fall back on a backed up pst file then re-do the changes since it had been made].

Best of luck,
Denis

I have Office 2019 home & business and my .pst and .ost are in same folder here:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

I don't use Onedrive - I have not seen your issue when deleting emails.

getting there found location of OST still looking for pst files

To check where all your pst-ost files are you can
1 Put your left-hand Outlook pane into Folder view [click on the icons at the bottom of that pane to choose different views]
2 The ost-pst files are displayed in a tree like in File explorer. Each file has its own tree so you need to look at the highest level of each tree.
3 Right-click on that highest level entry and select Data file properties
4 Click on the Advanced button and the dialog that appears shows you the full path & filename for that ost-pst file.
5 Repeat this for each file [each tree].

All the best,
Denis

Sorry was about location of pst files.

All the best,
Denis
Left pane already in View mode as I can see all the folders in all three accounts. I looked top to bottom and I see no reference to the files at all. sorry that I am struggling a bit here .

Step 1 Put your left-hand Outlook pane into Folder view [click on the icons at the bottom of that pane to choose different views]. If you cannot see the folder icon at the bottom of Outlook's left-hand pane, click on the blue ... symbol and select it from the list that appears.

Step 2 Right-click on your equivalents of my four 'trees' [my four Outlook datafiles] at the top level where I've scrawled in green,
Outlook data files 1.png

Step 3 Click on Data file properties in the context menu that appears,

Step 4 Click on Advanced,

Step 5 Read off the filename & path,

Step 6 Repeat this for each Outlook data file [each tree].

Best of luck,
