Hello everyone,
I am hoping that someone can help me out with a major problem. Somehow (probably me) I have lost ALL USB ports on my pc.
Now after spending literally "hours" I can't find any help.
The problem {_ I can't log-in to my pc as I have a USB keyboard, and a USB mouse but can't use either (because the ports are not working :(
The "internet keeps saying "go to setting" or "enter bios" but again can't do this.
Basically what i am trying to do is find if there are any other options to unlock, sign-in to my pc.#
I haven't had it long, so I can't tell anyone all the specs until I can inlock it.
This is about my last hope of a useable answer :(:(
All the best, John

Are there any usb ports on the rear of the computer?

Were you fiddling with some settings?

I think it would be useful to know if you made some kind of adjustment/tweaking or updating your BIOS settings, if no USB port is working could be a damaged chipset, or a bios crash, the first thing I'll try is to short the CLRT (Clear CMOS) on your motherboard and see if it helps.

Are there any PS2 ports where you could connect a wired keyboard and mouse. If you don't have wired keyboard and mouse they are not expensive on Amazon or you could visit a computer shop.

At the least, a picture maybe?

A picture of what, no PC access

Unplug the power supply
Remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes
As Gus said, you need to clear the CMOS so the BIOS resets
You have a question mark in your PC specs for the motherboard so can’t tell you where the reset is.

Removing the battery is the next best thing

Replace the battery, plug the power back in and see how you go

Hi, can you not remove the side of the case? To see if there are identifying words on the Motherboard.

From where I stand, to fix this, you will in fact have to remove the side of the case so you can reset the BIOS anyway. Unless of course someone else has a suggestion.

Kelper mentioned your keyboard. Yours is wired, can you get access to another one from a friend?

Hi, can you not remove the side of the case? To see if there are identifying words on the Motherboard.

From where I stand, to fix this, you will in fact have to remove the side of the case so you can reset the BIOS anyway. Unless of course someone else has a suggestion.

Kelper mentioned your keyboard. Yours is wired, can you get access to another one from a friend?
Sadly7 no. I am getting a p[s2 adapter to try that way (as suggested in my searches. Does it matter what the motherboard is ? I thought they basically did the same job.

Oh, I see you will use two adapters to connect your USB mouse and USB keyboard into those PS2 ports?

I still think that resetting the CMOS with the procedure suggested by Antspants is the easiest way to find out if the motherboard isn't damaged, here is a link to some images and video on how to do it clear cmos jumper - Google Search

Yes, but OP does not choose to do that! If he can connect his keyboard and mouse he can probably reset the tweak that started this mess! Not everyone is happy poking around inside computers.

Does it matter what the motherboard is ?

More often than not, yes it does.
It’s it wasn’t important then there wouldn’t be a spot for it in your specs.

Specs are more for those trying to help a member than they are to show everyone your pride and joy

Why can't you answer our questions? It's both lazy and annoying. If members ask you for the make and model of your motherboard, it is so then can offer specific advice, such as how to reset the BIOS. But you just come back and ask does it matter. Please remember that we don't work for Microsoft and are trying to help you in our own time.
