~~For now I can't even get the PCHealthCheck thingy to run. I mean, it runs, but does nothing that I can see - does not open any window, does not use any resources, nothing.~~

Turns out, I was impatient. After a while a window did appear. Here's what I got after clicking the button

Now, I do run the "Educational" version of Windows 10, but there is no way any "school" manages anything on my machine!

At the end of the day, once Windows 11 is out, I'll just get an installer from the University the same way I got Windows 10 and install. I won't be doing an upgrade anyways. I built this machine in January, so if this hardware can't run it, then I don't know what can.

Checked 2 computers.

One computer with windows 10

> windows 11 tool > This PC can't run Windows 11

Another computer with Windows 10 > This PC can't run Windows 11

So further troubleshooting is required.

Don't rely on the tool, it's known that it doesn't work properly yet.

Lots of modern BIOS's have a firmware TPM that can be enabled.

One has Windows 1809 that I've been saving for a possible tutorial (upgrade failure troubleshooting).
The other has BIOS Legacy MBR partitioning that will need modification to UEFI / GPT.

Mine WAS all False.
Had to enable firmware TPM and Secure boot, to get the all True, and have TPM 2.0 show in Device Manager.

And because I installed Win 10 on MBR partition in Legacy mode...
I had to switch CSM from Legacy to UEFI only, and run Macrium's "Fix Boot Problems", to pass the PC Health Check tool.

MBR was OK... CSM = Legacy wasn't.

I looked carefully through the Intel list after the Health Check said 'no' when I was expecting a 'yes'. TLDR: only 8th gen or later is on the list.

Mine had a 6th gen i7. However, as you can see in post #41, the install media did not have any objections to installing on this machine.

I'm OK with my desktop - Z390 and i7 8700K. It passes the test. But looks like my 3 year old Dell laptop is out as it has a 7th gen i5 (Inspiron 15 Gaming 5577 model).

I would be surprised if it ends up as restrictive as those lists suggest. It might turn out those cpus are "recommended" rather than strictly required.

Though ms appear mighty keen on the whole secure boot and tpm carry on, so you never know.

I would quite like to keep this ancient b75 machine going forever , it is only 3rd gen but I have no desire to retire it. Maybe it would work if a tpm module can be sourced it is a GC-TPM2.0_S 2.0. I have just discovered that there are stocks in Slovakia, but there is no obvious way of getting it posted.

Well my bios did not have any TPM option , but it does have a PTT option which was off. So I turned it on and booted back into Windows and this is what I get now.

Nothing there. I looked through all the options and didn’t notice anything suggestive of a TPM. Could it be under a different name? Probably need to check again.

That's not the board listed in your specs is it?

TBH given the age of the bios on that picture an external module may be the only way forward.
